Article comments for First Drive: 2007 Volvo S80 - At first glance the all-new Volvo S80 looks identical to the model it replaces. The overall length stays the same, but the wheelbase is a bit longer, the track a bit wider, and it is a little more than 1 inch taller. (more)

I'd probably stick with the high quality paneling wood interior look over the metal, even though the metal is very modern looking. I'd also stick with the ultra light tan/cream leather seats. I'd get a Black S80, I believe. The bottom line is this car has grabbed me ever since I saw it for the first time. Throw some James Blunt, in the CD changer of the 650 watt Dynaudio, and melt those miles away with knowing I'm driving the safest car ever built to protect myself, and my family, from "inconsiderate drivers" that we read about in that forum. The S80, is plenty fast enough because it was built for the autobahn. The car inside and out flat-out is a Scandinavian Techno God on 4-rubber wheels. Very good article. I would have liked a discussion (and comparison with the same competitors it mentioned elsewhere) of the physical comfort of the seats, front and rear (and the associated amenities including air conditioning, cup holders, reading lights, etc.). I would also like a discussion of the trunk, since for some of its competitors, like the GS350, small trunk size is a big problem. In that discussion, I'd like a little more than the cu. ft. measurement and the number of golf bags, such as storage areas, how many medium suitcases it can hold, how high the liftover is, etc. Replies to this message: rockylee (Oct 04, 2006 7:50 am)

The one who has driven the 2004 S80 with four C chassis knows the difference to the new S80. The former sport is now the comfort mode. So all the modes have moved to the sport side. I'm driving the new S80one month. A world of difference. Road behaviour : the 2004 version on snow remembered of the unoubliable 2CV, like on a rail track. Never 've read this in testarticles.

It offers 2.5T and AWD 2.5T models with 208 hp, the T5 model with 257 hp, and R model with 300 hp. The AWD 2.5T and the R have all-wheel drive.
