Article comments for Full Test: 2007 Mazdaspeed 3 - Mazda's 3 is a compact five-door or sedan that's been winning comparison tests and proving itself as a class leader since its introduction in 2003 as an '04 model — hardly a car capable of Evo or STI-like performance. (more)
Own a 2007 Speed3 and like the car alot.. Bought all season Mazda rubber mats to put over the cloth mats Mazda provides, for added protection. But it interfered with the clutch pedal, had to remove rubber mats to find out the pedal actually went into the carpet as well. Its not that big a deal, just felt different from my previous cars, otherwise the car is sweet, big jump up from my Honda Civic Si.Anyone else feel this???? Pulls strong without having to wail it up to 6100 to 8000 rpm all the time. I was going to supercharge the Si but felt the Speed3 was a better deal with the turbo and warranty. Doing any engine mods on the Si would void the warranty plus Honda would not be able to certify the car on a trade in nor would another dealer offer you what the car would been worth,it would not make the Speed3 power even with a supercharger.Si was a good car but the Speed3 is more fun!!!!!! Replying to: KarenS (Sep 22, 2006 6:56 am) So I know how much you can spend on a tuner car, and how much of a crapshoot it can be. I didn't expect that looking into a practical alternative - the Mazda3, would lead to this - a tuner car, and from the factory - at a price over stock that would barely get you the first trinkets to do it yourself - much less the sorting out. I thought the article was right on. I can echo all that about the shifter, weather mats, and all. But, I'm much more aware how this car responds than what I have been driving. She hasn't seen too much in the way of dirt roads, so now I wanna try that out, too. That's the way it is with this car, I'm learning to live a car like this like never before - even going to haul it out to the track. Downers? gas mileage, premium requirement, heavy, and maybe a little too deluxe (for this kinda car) Plusses? can really seat 4 people and/or haul stuff (a practical tuner car?), stereo/CD changer I also want to do a shout out to the great guys at Key Mazda who put me into the car. I feel treated like royalty. teevdv |
