Did you have the PCM scanned yet?I think you should get this car scanned before you throw any more parts at it.I still think its the coil, its a cheap part as well.Iam curious as the what the pressure difference is from the old pump to the new one, purhaps the pump was fine.I wouldnt use ether on my engine,Ive beaded heavy truck tires with that stuff,Id bet if you had spark and it caught you would know.

I finally gave in and i had the car plugged into a computer. The old fuel pump was bad because it wasn't holding it's pressure it went to 41 then droped down, the new one starts at 47 and stays there it don't drop. But the computer said that one of my control moduels on my distributor was bad. So i am goin to replace that tommorw night and i will let you know if that fixes it or not.

I have a 1973 Pontiac Trans Am and am looking for a reputable and responsible shop to complete unfinished restoration. I have all of the parts needed-just need a good shop to finnish what was started. Engine and tranny already done and in car and is mostly cosmetic- interior and paint. Anyone out there with suggestions? Please help!

                Thank You,

No good answer here.

Few shops are willing to take on a "basket case" where someone has started a restoration.

The places that will work on this car are going to charge probably 100.00 dollars per hour. A 1973 Trans Am won't be worth much when it's done so you might want to re-think this.

You might ask around to see if someone takes on side projects but be careful who you hire!

Tough situation. Maybe you'll have to break it down into, say, 3 steps (body, interior, mechanical) and get it towed from shop to shop. Probably not one single shop could do it for reasonable $$. You don't want a 'restoration' shop, just a reasonable body shop, interior shop, and a mechanic.
