With no warning, my Trooper would not start this morning. Check Engine light is on. The ignition seems fine. Dashboard lights up. Engine clicks - rapid clicking sound but will not start. Any suggestions? Thanks.

sounds like a weak battery. Leave any accessories, dome light, etc; on overnight? Clicking is starter solenoid trying to engage starter motor. Clean battery terminals, check grounds for good contact, jump and after start check voltage output of generator and have battery checked for capacity. Best case is cleaning will fix problem, worst would be possibly a bad starter, assuming you get the battery and alternator checked and they are OK. HTH One guys opinion.

My starter went out about 2 years ago, 2000 Trooper LS that is very similar to the 2002. I came out of the mall and it would not turn over... I did not get the rapid clicking...just on solid click when turning the key. Took battery out and over to Walmart and had them test it. Tested good. Mall security tried to give me a boost and that did not work. Had it towed home. Picked up a rebuilt starter at Napa regional warehouse. Got out the tools and a couple hours later had it swapped out. Turned the key and back in business about 6-7 hours after it failed. IIRC the starter was around $175 so that is not really that much worse than a battery unless you have to pay someone to put it in for you. Good luck.

2001 Isuzu Trooper and CEL is on. I changed the EGR valve, cleaned the port, changed intake gaskets, changed PCV valve, change air filter, changed fuel filter and it still is on. It is very sluggish during initial acceleration. If anyone knows what to do next, let me know, The garage told me to change the main wiring harness for $1,500, but the tech asked me for help in diagnosing it. Let me know, thanks.

What code(s) are in the memory? If you have an CEL and, vehicle won't start, number of different possibilities, so if CEL is lit, must be code and ecm problem. Post it for better help.

I need to take it back to the place that did all the work and see what the codes are. They also cleaned the MAS. Since this things burns so much oil, I haven't changed the Oil Filter in awhile. Could that cause issues? I know it is a stupid question, but I couldn't imaging a dirty oil filter causing the CEL to come on.
#46 of 59 Isuzu 2002 ECBM Location

My ABS light came on. I read the trouble code (43) using the jumper/blink method and was directed to test another relay. Unfortunately, I can't locate the ECBM unit on this vehicle. The 1997 manual shows this under the passenger seat, but it doesn't appear to be under there anywhere. Does anyone know this location?

I just made it to the Autozone to get it checked for codes and I got these..
P1295 - Electronic throttle control power management mode probable codes.
P1515 - Commanded versus actual throttle position correlation.
P1125 - Electronic throttle control limited performance mode-two APS faults set.
My question is... Do these problems fall under power train warrenty ?
Thanks in advance for any help.
