So... Excuse me, OW, for not knowing the details here, but what is your exact timing here? And what are your primary feature requirements for this next vehicle?

Lexusguy, have you put real live humans in the back seats of your XK? How would you describe it?

My XKs have always been convertibles, and the XK convertible's rear seat is a leather covered, seat-belted parcel shelf. Nobody with legs will fit back there. The coupe would probably be slightly better, if the front passenger were to move the seat most of the way forward. You really don't want to be in the back of an XK, though.

His Reply was Simple, "Osama, Obama, and Your Mamma."

Yes, better someone in office with a terrible record on veterans issues, and who fought to stop the new GI bill all the way to the 11th hour, and then had Bush give him credit for it, while leaving out Chuck Hagel. Who wants to actually go to college anyway? More wars, my friends!

He'll go for a 328. I'd love to say 335 but its just waayyyy overpriced.

OW, how can an 06 Audi A8 cost less than a new 335??? As far as I know a CPO 06 A8 still cost about $45k...

Timing is December 31, 2008! The 330xi turns in to a pumpkin and I loose my glass slipper, err... turn into a frog!

PFR: Sport Package (suspension and seats), AWD, 4 doors preferably or room so my 14YO daughter fits in the back seat (G37S is out, I'm afraid!)

Creature Features: Bluetooth, leather, nice sound

Price: Deep South Side of $50K...$40K even better!

That's about it! Give me Divine Guidance, my Friends!

Regards,
OW

Have you priced out a 335xi with premium, sport packages, Nav and cold weather package? $48,909 and that is 2008. They are raising the price for 2009 also!

OK, that helps.

The obvious question is just how well your 330xi has met your needs. What model year is it, and how many miles do you project it will have by the end of the year?

Your lease ends at a very good time. You'll have one of the best opportunities to make a good deal on a brand new or new "leftover". And, of course, there is the opportunity to buy your 330xi if it's been awesome and if the price is right. Sometimes the leased vehicle can be purchased for less than the written residual value, but you would need to address that possibility only if you are considering keeping the leased vehicle.

A new 3-series would be nice, and the '09 will get the all-new enhanced iDrive, with simpler controls, and enhanced features, The all-new iDrive is an extensive revision, not just a tweak. At this very moment I am not able to easily link info to you on the '09 iDrive, sorry, but if you Google it you will be amazed at the new system. I would have liked the new software and technology in my 1er, but not the new widescreen. It fits nicely in the other models, but is actually too big for the 1er IMO. Regardless, Google it and check it out. It's truly incredible and is worth much more than the incremental price increase for the '09 model. Trust me, the '09 iDrive is an incredible leap forward, and will offer major technology advancements... simply awesome.

Remember, it is the "car", not the "deal" that you will be driving. A fair deal on a fantastic car is always better than a fantastic deal on a fair car.

Thanks TM! My 2006 330xi has meet my needs completely. I leased it on December 31, 2005.

The mileage will be high, approx. 44K at turn-in. The buy out price stands at $29,723 for purchase now and residual was $28K. I would consider buying it at $24K but I am sure that will be declined.

The idrive never bothered me on the loaner 5 series I used during a service call. The 335i I used one day blew my socks off. I will check out the new one, though.

OW

Yes, that twin-turbo is an amazing engine. The torque curve is a big part of the secret, IMO. It comes in completely with all 300 lbs. at only 1400 rpm and essentially stays with you all the way to your next shift point. No lag, silky smooth, and married to a wonderful suspension. It's no wonder it won the award for the best engine in the world!

BTW, the '09 iDrive will blow the doors off of the current system. Take the time to Google it. Cool technology!
