Here's an online dealer that does for example: http://www.collegehillshonda.com/hondacare/warranty.htm And yes, any contract that you purchase before November 2nd will be valid. You actually receive your paperwork from the corporate office no matter which dealer it is purchased from. It's all the same, just priced differently. |

Hi, I am new to this forum. I bought the extended warranty at the dealership in San Diego. The price is $1895 for 6yr/80,000miles, and I pay $200 more to have 0 deductible. So total is $2095. I didn't research this forum before I bought. After I saw other people's post, I am not sure if I bought too expensive, so I called the dealership, and they told me this is an EXCLUSIVE warranty, (like bumper to bumper or sth like that). So I am wondering if the extended warranties that people bought on line are exclusive warranties too or it just covered some parts or they are actually the same? The dealship said that if I can find some other dealership who sells the same contract for lower price, they can try to match it, but where can I find those contracts? I tried to link to the webpage given in the previous thread http://www.collegehillshonda.com/hondacare/warranty.htm for honda civic excluded hybrid. But the pdf link is not valid. Can anyoneo kindly tell me if $2095 for an exclusive warranty a reasonable price? Or even if it is exclusive warranty, the price should be below $1000? I just got the VSC today, on page 2. Coverage section, in A. PARTS section, it says " All VEHICLE parts are covered by this CONTRACT, subject to the therms and conditions herein and EXCEPT AS EXCLUDED BY ARTICLE IV. so in the later pages, there are LOTS of exceptions written in article IV." Is everyone's VSC the same as mine and is less expensive? Thanks for reading. |

He has a web site - which is: wwwhondacuraworld.com. 1-888-RAY-LAKS M-F 7AM-3:30PM EST. I hear you amigo, the delivering dealer wanted $1800 for the same 6/80,000 HCEW) Sadly, this was some time back (and things may have changed - - - not necessarily for the good of the consumer) all the best, ez.... |

| There are warranties available online. But after Nov. 2, 2009, Honda dealers are not allowed to sell warranties online. Also, many dealerships don't sell warranties to CA residents. Try calling Moss Honda in Louisiana. Don't know if they will give you a written quote. Also try Poway Honda...they quoted me $2,600 initially, but were willing to come down to $1,500 for a 8yr/100,000 mile warranty. As far as the warranty from Honda, I think it's pretty standard. I haven't read the book, but I think it's pretty comprehensive. Good luck! | |

If you can find a good price online and they are willing to sell it to a CA resident, you need to cancel your current warranty PRONTO-you should fax the cancellation paperwork to the number on it. It takes a few days to do that. Then only can you purchase a new contract. So time is of essence! Of course, if your dealer matches the price, then great. Also, your dealer might tell you that the contract you purchase online is not the same as what they are selling. As long as it is Honda Care, it is the same everywhere. |

They have a separate link for honda civic hybrids. Looks like they sell a $0 deductible Honda Care 6 year/80K for $720. Just click here and scroll down to Civic Hybrid: http://www.collegehillshonda.com/hondacare/warranty.htm I've never heard the term "Exclusive" in relation to Honda Care. It sounds like something the dealer made up so they can keep $1,300 of profit.

| Honda Care and Acura Extended Care Warranty contracts are the same from Bernardi/College Hills Honda, etc, or a local Honda Acura Dealership. Ran into the same situation with Acura. Used Bernardi, who has to shut down their online warranty selling service 11/1/09 for Acura Care. Got a price on the term I selected for my Acura vehicle. Attempted to purchase the SAME contract from two Acura dealerships both of which I have used for all of my service work for my two Acura's in the past 7 years. There was a $1,000 markup with one dealership and a $400.00 markup with the other. When they cannot sell enough new vehicles to make a big profit, they will do so what ever way possible. | |

Do you advise and extended warrenty for the above? Honda wants $1800 for 60/60 with no deductible. Any experience with aftermarket warrenties like Alpha Warrenty Services? Is a warrenty really needed? TIA
