Article comments for First Drive: 2007 Acura TL Type-S - What's the best way to motivate a TL Type-S back to the top of the charts? Power, baby; and the high-revving 300-hp 3.5-liter V6 doing its best to propel the too-heavy, two- wheels-too-many-driven RL would seem like a good choice, and it is. (more)

I recently got to run some g-timer tests on my TL with about 600 miles on it.

0-60 in 5.7 seconds (wheel spin/traction is a limiting factor)

1/4 mile in 14.2 seconds at 99 mph

Acura of Libertyville, IL. said if I sell my car myself, they will sell me a NEW 07 TL Type S for $34,995!!! FACT!!! I decided to trade my 06 TL for a new TL-S at a different dealer. I didn't want to sell myself. Plus I saved $2,000 in taxes. But if you sell yours by yourself, you can get a great deal if you try hard!!!

Best car I've ever owned. Not only does what was advertised, but does it in extraordinary fashion. Handles like a go-kart, accelerates without hesitation or turbo lag like other vehicles in this class, and brakes with total control. Some torque steer, but manageable. Mileage is also beyond what was expected with 30 highway and 24 city/26 average. One inital problem with TPMS in cold weather, but charging the tires with nitrogen fixed that, I recommend this for the low profile tires. Electronics have worked flawlessly, even the additional IPOD interface. The "hands free link" system provides communication without diverting attention away from enjoying the drive experience. If you don't "drive" this car, you are short changing yourself and your investment. It loves to be pushed, and returns the favor with great control and a helluva ride.
