Are you sure you want to add seat covers? The side airbag is located within the side seat bolsters. Now, in an accident, the airbags likely deploy with enough force to tear through the cover, but it would surely be delayed a milli-second or more....maybe enough for your head to crack open!

Thanks to espo35. Seat covers offered on Costco.com say they have cut-out for air bags. Will doublecheck this.

I've seen the type you're referring to. Should work with no problem!

Had it about 2 months now, no problems yet. I worried about the carpet being so light in color, but it seems to be okay even with all this wet weather we have had here in La.

We now have two 2009 Santa Fe SE's - one with gray interior and just bought one with beige interior. I plan on using scotchguard on both- upholstery and carpeting.

Thx. I think I will do that too.
#146 of 169 Water leak...
Mar 30, 2010 (8:04 pm)
has anyone experienced water leaking into their '07 Santa Fe AWD limited? NO SUNROOF! The water is coming in through the driver side pillar (behind windshield) - possible seal problem - the seal was repaired at dealer a while ago - seems like that could be the culprit.... would the seal still be under warranty after 68k miles?
#147 of 169 center console
Apr 06, 2010 (11:15 am)
I'm wondering if anyone else has had concerns with the distance from the steering wheel to the center console. I typically drive with my right arm on an armrest and find the distance in the santa fe to be too far! I can't hold the steering wheel and rest my right arm at the same time. And this is with the steering wheel fully extended. Is this just a silly concern and something that I'll adjust to? Or should I walk away from an otherwise great vehicle (haven't bought it yet).
