#40 of 49 JUST PICKED UP THE CR-V EX-L by harumitsu

After many days of going back and forth between a RAV4-V6 and the CR-V EX-L, we picked up the Honda and it is sweeet! Even though the RAV4 had a more powerful engine, its brakes were too mushy and for the same price did not have all the amenities we wanted (even if it did have the third row seats). The CR-V had great pick-up and solid brakes... thank God for that Vtec engine! (I've been a loyal Honda fan for years.)

We got one with navigation and DVD, roof rack and fog lights to boot. There is an audio plug for the iPod, but with the factory DVD player, there are RCA hookups for the iPod video so you can watch your fave rave movies and TV shows (including built-games with a wireless PS2-like controller to boot!). Because the navigation and XM/am/fm/cd stereo is voice activated, you can turn on and off without looking at the dials!

All this for a price that was cheaper than a top-of-the-line RAV4, which does not come with GPS at all!

We got the car for long rides with the wife and 2 teen kids (who normally hates the long drives but the DVD player and games should pacify them). Though this particular car may be targeted for women, but I'm having a blast zooming past the soccer moms and the gas-guzzling monster SUVs I so despise.

I also have a 07 CR-V EX-L and NAV. I however do not have DVD. What accessory is this? I haven't seen it for sale anywhere or offered as an accessory at purchase.
Have you used this feature or is this what the dealer told you?

#42 of 49 Interior changes for 2008 by lauri1

I currently drive a 2004 crv and love it. I test drove a 2007 crv-ex this weekend, and I liked it except for the strange colored silver door handles. They do not match the rest of the beige interior. Does anyone know if Honda changes things like this in later models? I will wait for a 2008 in the hopes that they make the interior colors complementary.

I just picked up my crv on Monday with beige leather and I still can't figure out the silver door handles. I could just imagine the designers sitting around a table saying that let's put on a door handle that the people who talk on web sites will talk about. I've been driving Hondas and Acuras since 1981. they tend to change other items such as making colored outside mirrors on the lower models or trickling down certain small items. Don't sweat the small stuff. It's a great car.

Honda usually does not make any interior changes until the next generation model. So you have to wait until 2012.

On the last generation CR-V they did make a few minor changes. They enlarged the center storage drawer, added a coat hook and changed the interior color for the Taffeta white exterior (beige to black). Maybe even some other things (door lock for the passenger??) over it's five year run.

Minor stuff for sure but they do sometimes make changes if the situation warrants.

Hi,

I'm thinking of buying the CRV EXL with the navigation. How well does the navigational system and rearview camera work? I want to get the rearview camera for safety purposes and I wasn't sure how well the camera worked.

Thanks,

I have the car only a few days. Once you get used to"trusting" the camera, it fine. You see exactly what's back there. Great safety feature. It seems to be the same as my kid's MDX with the rear camera.
As far as the navigation, it's the same as our TL. It's terrific. Radio is well integrated. The screen on the TL is larger and the radio change stations on the TL are on the screen, while the CRV has the buttons below the screen. But most of the time you use the controls on the steering wheel anyway.
And we just discovered that since we have XM in one car, the second car is only $7 a month.
This car is a great package.

For what it is worth. I am a 67-year-old guy. I've owned Saab and Corolla and most recently a used 02 Saturn L-1. I have had the CR-V for 6 days and love it. I will keep it for 10 years (hope I outlive the car; that could be iffy
Anyway. I really love this car. It is quiet, comfortable, east to enter and leave. It is loaded with great features, including a 5 Star rating in all but one category and it gets 4 stars there.

I got a really good price and 5.25 financing for 48 months -- although I will pay it off in two years. hate debt.

This car is a dream. It performs perfectly. Has great design and I love the Glacier Blue. Lots of friends and co-workers have remarked on what a good looking car it is.

And we will be able to tow it with all four wheels ont he pavement in back of our motorhome.

Thank you, Japan.

Congratulations on your purchase. Happy to see someone in my age bracket that enjoys their CRV. I've owned my 07 Glacier Blue EX for almost a year now with no regrets.
