Has anyone seen the 07 Explorer? I've looked all over the internet to see a pic, with no luck. Also, what are some key physical differences between 06 and 07 externally? How is the 06 identifiable on the outside? (what makes it different from 05) Thanks! Replying to: helpme10 (Sep 01, 2006 7:33 am) Ford is getting rid of most "plain jane" models. Both the Explorer and Expedition start with an XLT model since XLS has been dropped. The 07 explorer starts at $25,300 as a XLT model. The eddie bauers start at $28,300 and the limited at $31,400. Still the v8 is only $1200 more and the 4wd models for $2295 more. Fords drivetrain and roadside warranty have gone up to 5 year/60,000 miles.   Inside, I am unsure if the door handles have been changed since o7s aren't on the lots yet. The cloth seats have been changed and thats about it. Now Xlt's have optional 10-way power seats and passenger seats are now height adjustable. The power folding 3rd row is an option on across the line. The 3rd row (manual) is standard on the Limited. Audio controls are on the steering wheel of the Xlt now and ford has satellite radio is now an option. Side curtain airbags are standard on Eddie Bauer models.   Outside, the color Orange Frost Clearcoat Metallic has been added to xlt models. In fact, a grey leather is added to the Xlt models.   Here's a link with the information I stated. U may have to substitute the 06's Eddie Bauer for whatever you'd need.   -Cj

My local dealer had their first 07 arrive on Friday. Have appt. with them on Tuesday to order one myself. I am told that Ford added some type of "cup" to the armrest which can be both a grab point to fix the issue with people not being able to reach the door pull and can also hold small items like coins. Other changes are now an 8" DVD screen and "Safety Canopy" is standard on Eddie Bauer and Limited editions. MP3 audio input jack is now on all radios. Some colors deleted and others added. As far as the differences between 05 and 06 (externally). The only thing I could come up with were the fog lights. 05 is round and 06 is rectangle. Is that correct? Replying to: helpme10 (Sep 05, 2006 10:19 am) No - there are vast differences between the 05 and the 06, from the grille, taillights, rear window and hatch, and the complete interior is different.
