Replying to: ratomlinson (May 04, 2008 5:26 pm) I'm working on a deal for a 2wd limited but in the back of my mind really want a platinum. Most dealers will email a quote in the same range (around 45500 for a 49000 msrp limited). How much more room is there without the 2000 or 4000 rebate (I'd like to take advantage of the 0 percent)? Also, tomlinson, how did you arrange 0 percent on a platinum? Do the dealers have authority to do that?

Replying to: mackabee (May 07, 2008 6:10 pm) Then I had a Toyota engineer test drive. He said everything is normal, the engine sound and RPM changes are because of the 6-speed transimission. He also think the computer is programmed to coordinate the V8 engine with the 6-speed transimisson. I am going to first enjoy the riding first though I don't quite understand the engineer's comments.

Hi, Tonight I was pushing the limits of my fuel mileage. I was on my way home and can get gas quite a bit cheaper near my house. I cross the border to South Carolina, and gas goes down .15 - 20 a gallon. I was also interested in the XX miles to empty readout I get in the Sequoia. I was trying to see if it would get to a point where it would give a warning just before you are about to actually run out. I drove mine for 3 - 5 miles while the readout was reading 0 Miles to empty. Does anyone know what the buffer is ? Is there an additional warning when you actually get very close to running out? (Other than the one when you hit 20 miles to empty. ) Just curious. I don't normally run it that close. I was jst interested to see if it would give an eventual beep or warning. I got to the gas station before it did and was able to put 22 Gallons in it. It must have been close. Any details appreciated.

I found this weird thing from my brand 08 sequoia. After I turned the key to power on position without actually turning on the egnine, so I could use all the electronic functions such as bluetooth. Then I heard a constant noise from the passenger side, like from somewhere inside or behind the glove box. The noise sounds like a fan is running or wind blowing. I double checked to make sure my audio is completed off, but the noise is always there. After I turned the key to off posisiton, the noise is gone. Anyone has similar experience? Any tips?

I'm not sure if the sound you're hearing is the same as mine but here's one thing to check. I have an '08 Platinum Sequoia which has both heated and air conditioned front seats. There must be a fan somewhere in the seats that pushes either cold or heated air through the perforations in the seats. I found that there was a noise that was rather annoying and couldn't figure it out until I turned the temp controlled seats off or at least to a lower setting. I'm not sure if the Limited's heated seats work the same way as the Platinum however its rather easy to check. Try driving with the radio off and the front seats set to the highest heat setting and see if you hear the sound. Next try putting the setting to the highest air conditioned setting. Last, try driving with both front seats set to 0 (off). You'll know right away if the sounds you're hearing are coming from the fan in the seats. Good luck.
