vernschillinge -

Like you said, through trial and error and was able to locate the dealer that had the Pyrite Mica with Red Rock interior Platinum that you identified for me. It was in Atlanta and now it's in my driveway in Pennsylvania. Your advice through this buying experience was greatly appreciated!!!

Deal was invoice plus $400 plus $699 dealer fee plus tax/title registration. 0% financing.

In my opinion and my wife's opinion, the Pyrite Mica and Red Rock is a great combination. We also like the wood dash. Fender flares look great as well - gives the vehicle nice defintion and a more "rugged appearance".

Wife has a nice new Mother's Day present! Thanks again!

Hey, hats off to you! You were able to get it done. My purchase was for the wife as well and she is very happy. Glad I could help. Sounds like you have a reasonable dealer that was willing to work with you.

As I said before, I wasn't a fan of the fender flairs, but hey, to each his own. My wife does like the wood dash kit. My thieving dealer was asking $787 for the wood dash kit. Told him to go to hell. Mack has mentioned it was available for somewhere in the high $200 range.

- Limited, 4WD
- sticker price $52090
- deal price $45000 (before tax title tag dealer fee)
- No DVD, No nevigation,
- 20 inch wheels
- sunroof
- power back door
- cold package
- read spoiler
- daytime running light
- floor mat, cargo mat, door sill protector

I took the 0% for 60month instead of the $4000 cash back.

The only concern I have is it already has 127 miles on the meter when I bought, not sure why it has such high miles. Is it normal for such high test-driving miles? I test drive it and did not feel any problem, but you know, i am not a mechnical engineer .... While I guess it's already too late to ask this question since I already signed the deal.

Big thanks to Mack for the latest incentive. also thanks to HD for the experience on toyota nevigation (the reason why i did not ask for this option).

127 miles is nothing. I've sold vehicles with 200+ miles. Sometimes we have to exchange with other dealers so depending on where we go the mileage will vary.
How long was the vehicle on the lot? It might have been test driven a few times and maybe taken overnight by a prospect. I wouldn't lose sleep over it. My first Camry had 45 miles on it. Mainly because it was a 5 speed and quite a few sales persons test drove it. My Toyota Van LE was fresh off the delivery truck. 1 mile on her. My first Toyota was an 81 Celica and I don't remember what the mileage was on that one. I was 22 years old and that new car smell just got to me.

Congratulations and enjoy your new Sequoia.! You will get many years of trouble free driving pleasure.

The annual inspection sticker shows March, and the inventory sheet shows the invoice date Mid Feb. So I believe it had been on lot for a bit over for 2 months.

Another not sure thing is about the engine sound, I hear the engine becomes quite noisy when running around 45-50 MPH, giving me a kind of feeling that it's working overly hard to get up the speed. Never drive a V8 truck engine before, not sure whether it's normal.

The 5.7L V8 in the Sequoia is a monster for a half ton vehicle. Are you getting a nice throaty sound when you accelerate? Find a nice clear road where you can put the pedal to the metal and see if it feels like you said.

tomlinson and others--

I'm working on a deal for a 2wd limited but in the back of my mind really want a platinum. Most dealers will email a quote in the same range (around 45500 for a 49000 msrp limited). How much more room is there without the 2000 or 4000 rebate (I'd like to take advantage of the 0 percent)?

Also, tomlinson, how did you arrange 0 percent on a platinum? Do the dealers have authority to do that?

I took the toyota engineer for a ride this week and he could barely hear the noise whild driving with cruise on at 70mph. (this seems to be a frequency hearing sensitivity thing as well because i was hearing it). He had me pull over and he pulled he airfilter from the airbox. I engaged the emergency brake, stepped on the brake pedal, put it in gear and slowly brought the engine up to 1800RPMs (stopped)and......IT STARTED SCREAMING...bingo!! There is something about the airbox that makes the engine scream! I suggested trying the TRD air filter whih i put in today and it made it worse. It made the range from 1500-2500 RPM and it was much louder. I thought it may be the CFM sensor but it isnt....Please try this and call 800-331-4331 to complan if you hear it too....my next step it to try other aftermarket filters. Please check and post. thanks.

I took a close look at the RPM and engine noisy, and found out that while accelerating from 0 to 40 MPH, the RPM goes up to 2000 - 3000 RPM, engine has noisy yet nice sound. after passing 40MPH yet before 50MPH, the engine starts having low frequency sound, and RPM drops to 1000-2000 RPM.

Then I had a Toyota engineer test drive. He said everything is normal, the engine sound and RPM changes are because of the 6-speed transimission. He also think the computer is programmed to coordinate the V8 engine with the 6-speed transimisson. I am going to first enjoy the riding first though I don't quite understand the engineer's comments.
