After market rear DVD Entertainment by lou88

Is this DVD system installed at headrest ??
If the DVD is installed on the ceiling like the one from factory, any chance to "damage" wiring or scratch the ceiling cover during installation???
How about the quality/size compared to the one from factory?? Any input is appreciated.

lou, the factory DVD on the ceiling is working great. the screen is actually pretty good size and visability is very good even on a sunny day. (I had headrest screens in a 4Runner previously and sunny days sometimes made viewing not so good)

HD awesome info thanks a lot , I think you may just have inspired me ! By the way I was at Exxon on 22 west near the Kings plaza (by Merck) today and a guy driving a Range Rover (maybe an 05 or 06) came over and was asking me about my Seq. Said he loved the way it looked, took a peak inside and was literally shocked when I told him I was packing 380 horses and 10 lbs towing ability. I urged him to dump the RR and grab a Seq asap. He also said his gas milage wasn't as good. Times like that certainly take the sting outta writing a check for $56k+ when it wasn't for a sexy German stud-mobile.

You probably saw my Denali XL for sale in the parking lot of Kings facing rt22. I use that Exxon for gas frequently. Recently their prices for gas are the best around which is surprising for Exxon. I think Exxon may be keeping their prices down to avoid Congress getting involved in pas prices or setting a windfall tax for the large refiners.

Its rare to see a brand name as big as Exxon as the lowest price gas dealer in the area.

Special Ordering Advice by ratomlinson

I am going into a dealer on Monday to have a Sequoia Platinum ordered from the factory directly. The dealer has agreed to invoice plus $250.

For those of you who have done this type of order before, do you have any advice on what I should have in the contract to protect me and assure that everything comes in as expected? I am thinking of any future dealer incentives that might come out between now and when the vehicle arrives, I am concerned about port installed options, etc.

Also, what accessories/option have you found most useful?

I had a similar deal like that with an agreed upon price over invoice.
But then at the last minute, they wanted to charge $599 doc. fee.

If you want to avoid a confrontation, I suggest you get OUT THE DOOR pricing before you go in, or at least know whats the max you will pay out the door.

i almost exclusively use that station and the exit 12 Exxon. you're probably right HD , they seem 20-30 cents less per gallon than anywhere else. funny huh. honestly i dont think about gas prices much. I travel a lot and Americans have no idea how high prices could be. We are much less than Europe. I was just in Monte Carlos and it would almost cost 2x to fill the Seq there... although I did see a lot of "Smart" cars, which could fit inside our Seqs with 2nd and 3rd row seats down ! Moreover oil here is not about supply , its about the speculators and the low dollar anyway. no worries.

Mack - my local dealer finally moved on his pricing.

I am getting a Platinum with Pyrite Mica and Red Rock Interior with option package "A" (EY Rear Entertainment, CK Cold Kit, RL Daytime Running Lights). Dealer invoice $52,539 which includes destination, TDA gas, holdback, financial reserve. Plus $250 over invoice.

I am still confused as to why my dealer has a TDA of $962 while others have only a TDA of $500. Can anyone explain the varying TDA?

PIO are as follows:
Z1 Preferred Accessory Package ($240 dealer cost)
P7 Satellite Radio XM ($359 dealer cost)
8E Simulated Wood Dash ($215 dealer cost)

Plus doc fees, taxes and title/registration.

I don't know if my numbers help but here they are. I also purchased a Platinum Sequoia with similar options. My price was $1000 over dealer invoice and the final price before taxes, title and registration was $53,424. Here's my breakdown of the Dealer invoice price on my Platinum Sequoia from the manufacturer's vehicle sheet:
  • Vehicle $47,816
  • Rear Entertainment $1336
  • Cold kit $80
  • DRL on/off $32
  • Preferred Accessories (mats, door sill protector, F/A kit, cargo net) $232
  • Wheel locks $65

  • Destination charge $685
  • TDA $500
  • Gas $10
  • Dealer holdback $1112
  • Financial Reserve $556

The total Dealer invoice for my vehicle was $52424. I paid $53424. I hope that helps.
