Article comments for Comparison Test: Small All-Wheel-Drive SUVs - We've gathered three such vehicles for this comparison: the all-new 2006 Toyota RAV4, the 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe and the 2007 Mazda CX-7. It'd be uncomplicated to call these three "mini SUVs," but when they're loosely based on midsize sedans Toyota Camry, Hyundai Sonata and Mazda 6, it'd be more correct to call them midsize crossovers. I had a vinyl bra on a '95 T-Bird that did far more paint damage than if no bra had been installed. It was removed each week and the hood was waxed once each month, but the small grit that collected under it between cleanings acted as sandpaper and really wore down the paint. If you put one of these on your car you will regret it. The day we bought a new Accord for the Mrs. we took it to a tint shop and had the clear 3M film applied. Two years later the hood still looks like new. No difference in paint color and the film has not yellowed. A much better choice than vinyl paint protection. 3M link "http://www.invisiblemask.com/site.html">link title |

I am thinking of buying a SUV this fall or by the end of the 2007 year. I like very much the SF my only concern is the mpg. Nissan will have the Rogue that goes on sale this fall with same looks (exterior) as the SF but with a 4 cylinder engine 2.5 liter motor 170hp and a CVT it promisses better mpg. not so sure I'll like the interior as much as the SF. link title

Also in the Market for a small SUV. RAV4 is at the top of my list after driving the V6. I drive an 2005 Acura TL and need more room. I'd swear that the my TL has nothing on the performance of the RAV. After just reading my Consumer Reports it turns out that the 0-60 time is the SAME (6.7 seconds. The TL is every bit a sports sedan. While driving the RAV, I had a little grin on my face when I realized I wouldn't necessarily have to give up performance for more room. Consumer Reports has the RAV ranked first in the small SUV category and is the only non-hybrid SUV to get an excellent overall ranking. The Santa Fe finished 2nd and CRV 5th after the RAV4 with the 4 cyl and the Subaru Forester. For some reason the CX-7 was rated with the mid-size (don't know why as it's smaller than the RAV)but it finished 21st!! I'll still drive the Santa Fe, but I am strongly leaning toward the RAV. Already have prices at $400 above invoice and I got that online. I'll pay less and get free oil changes once I get into it at the dealer. Anyway, I know a lot of this is personal choice, so good luck to everyone with their choices.
