Replying to: ram2500 (Nov 26, 2007 11:03 pm) I hope your problem has a simple fix because my 2000 2500 has the same problem. monday, I am taking it to a friend that is a very honest transimission man. He seems to think it is a sensor like gov. sensor, or shift solenoid. But nothing major. (I hope). I will let you know what happens.

Replying to: amanwhocares (Nov 28, 2007 2:12 pm) I am begiinning to thinnk that the trans slips out of the drive gear (4th?) more and more and goes into a free wheel state not only anymore just when its cold.   Called dealer and was told its a 46RH trans. It is a four speed but when I drive it it does not sound like it upshifts three times.   Thanks for the responses and please continue with them as I have not heard one that sounds definitive yet. I'm thinking that Dodge needs to put a noter tranny in it sre should have lasted more thene 17000 miles .let me know how the tranny repair went . hey dusty can you help me ?

I have 01 ram 5.2L, automatic. I had returned from a weekend trip about 300 miles RT. Truck drove fine until I got home about and hour later, the truck sputtered and would not accelerate past 30 MPH, but the RPMs were at 3000. Finally it would not accelerate at all like it was in neutral. Regarless of what gear it is in even reverse, nothing happens. can anyone give a guess as to whats going on?   Thanks Replies to this message: kcram (Dec 04, 2007 3:57 pm)

You'll likely need the truck towed to a shop that can check any codes and give it a proper examination. Hopefully, it's just a sensor that has gone bad.   kcram - Pickups Host

Replying to: ram2500 (Nov 26, 2007 11:03 pm) I got news on my 00 2500 today. It was called a band strut on the foward band of the transmission. Our trucks must have been built on Friday, because he said that it probably wasn't ever adjusted correctly from the factory. The strut just simply fell out. He had to pull the valve body down and reinstall it. Also when you change your fluid it is a good idea to loosen the valve body so that it will drain more fluid out of the torque converter. The latest on my 99 2500;the injector pump died Mond. nite...the dodge dealer has to repair that first to get the cummins running so that he can check the tranny. All this is under a 3rd party warranty (C.A.R.S. protection plan--not recommended) and what a hassle. I will keep your 'find' in mind when the dealer pulls the trans. pan and valve body. This problems seems to occur a lot with dodge trannys...hmmmm...design issues????? Stay in touch and thanks again for all the input.

Replying to: qd1016 (Nov 27, 2007 6:54 pm) I have a 2005,2wd,2500 5.9 diesel with 58000KM....Last week the tranny would stay in first gear up to 35 KMH or 2500RPM.I brought it to My chrysler garage an they changed the Transmisson Actuator, it is running great now.The work was under warranty, it would have cost $1000.00.   This is my fist post, hope it helps.

I HAVE A2003 3500 2 WHEEL DRIVE WHEN COLD SHIFTS GREAT BUT WHEN IT WARMS UP IT WINES UP TO 2500 BEFORE IT WILL SHIFT OUT OF FIRST TO SINCE IT STARTED AT ABOUT 100.000 THOUSAND MILES AND IT WILL DOWN SHIFTS HARD IT HAS A TIGHT SPOT IN FOOT FEED WHEN WARM.
