As for what fuel type to select, I couldn't tell you, but the folks at Scangauge seem friendly enough and I am sure they will give you an answer. You can scan the car's computer for fault codes, retrieve a lot of very useful information from multiple screens and use it as a trip computer. I have been able to diagnose what is causing the check engine on my car to light on and what sensor needed replacement. The one thing is not reliable enough for a CNG vehicle is any calculation that requires precise energy content information or tank measurements. Regarding energy content I was told to use the LPG option as it is the closest to CNG. That did not work and I was getting huge variations on the MPG calculations. When I tried using gas it did work much better. My guess is that by compressing KGs of NG at 3600PSI in a 8 gallon tank Honda has been able to be very close to the energy content of a gallon of regular gas (GGE). Pass this you still need to get accurate and consistent fillings which in my experience is hard to do. Once I calibrated the unit with the best filled(low temperature,etc) the multiple calculations are accurate. The only exception is any calculation that is using information from the tank: gas left, miles left, etc. These calculations will vary depending on how complete was the filled. For that reason I would never rely solely on the scangauge to decide when to fill (CNG only). Besides that I am very happy with the unit.
