You can buy a Scanguage to monitor your performance. This box plugs into your OBDII port and gives you current/trip/tank info on mileage and also shows many other engine details. It can tell you immediately how your driving is affecting your mileage. You will need to calibrate your unit by buying a couple tanks of gas.

To make fuel use accurate, you will have to add a known amount of CNG at a fillup. This is not easy with CNG. You would have to fill it to a repeatable level, drive until it is low on fuel and then refill it to the same level again. You would also need to have a filling system that can accurately tell you how many gallons you have added. The accuracy to which you can do this will dictate the accuracy of the fuel economy and use shown by the ScanGaugeII." Hope that helps.
