I own a 2006 solara conv-love the car except the rear headrests blocks my vision out the rear-I have seen some that are not solid and you can see through- anybody know where I can locate them- dealers have no idea -any help would be appreciated

IMHO, it's a non-issue. In my case, between the rear window, the side view mirrors and the back-up radar system there's enough rear I get enough information on what's back there to be comfortable. If I wanted even more I could purchase a reasonably priced rear view camera system that would pipe a signal right out of my nav. system monitor.

My dealer told me the 2006 headrests have a steel pillar in them (I confirmed this & so can you by removing the headrest yourself) that served as protection for the rear seat passengers in the event of a roll-over. The 2007 rear headrest design took the visibility issue into account, ergo the hold in the middle.

Hope this helps,
Meegwell

Hi Max's Mom, I do own a 2007 Solara coupe , with 4 cyl, plenty of power, and I solved my problem by simply removing the rear head rests. They very simply just pull out... and I put them away until I sell the car. BTW.... should you decide to buy a Solara you will be extremely happy with it ! I have always owned the "Big 3" cars and had nothing but mechanical problems way before they were do .

Hi, was wondering what you found out about converting the headrests. Is it a possibility? If so, how?

I am interested in this suite, although we all had a chance to see out the back window before buying the car. I want to remove the headrest, any suggestions?
