| I have a 2007 Dodge 2500 with the factory towing pkg. The trailer brake controller connector is attached to the electronics module beneath the dash. I am unable to connect the wiring harness from the brake controller to this connector due to the wire loom that is directly in front of it. I have tried unhooking the connector from the electronics module, but it seems to have some retaining clip and I am afraid I might damage the wiring if i force it loose. Is there something that I am missing or doing wrong here??? | |
| Thinking to purchase 3500 dodge dually 6.7 cummings to tow a 4 car trailer stacker 2 on top and bottom app. 38 ft long not sure on weight of trailer. has three axles 7000 lbs. each with goose neck. owner pulls same trailer with 2008 ford f450 6.4 deisel which ford rates tow capacity 24500. Is this to much weight for the dodge 3500 or do i need to go to 4500? or go ford because with 4 cars on trailer thats alot of weight. | |

I have the same problem as others in finding the blue brake controller connector. I have a flat 4 prong trailer connector. Did not get the towing pkg. with the truck did all trucks come with the brake controller connector? I have a 2004 dodge 1500 quad cab. |

I am looking at a Raptor 3712TS fifth wheel. The spec sheet lists a weight of about 12600. According to trailer life ratings this truck has a tow rating of 14650 (5.9L HO, 4.10 axel, 4wd, LB, dually). My question is along the same lines of others I have seen but cannot really figure out. First, it looks like I have about 2K of people and stuff I can add before being overweight. Is that right? Secondly, is the rating listed for off the back towing and the real capacity with fiver towing is higher? Like in the previous post the GM and Ford websites show diffferent ratings for each. Thanks for any input!!!

Replying to: yorktownrick (Mar 13, 2009 3:44 am) Second question... That 14,650 is for fifth-wheels. By law, you can not tow more than 10,000 pounds from a rear hitch, regardless of the truck's rated capacity. kcram - Pickups/Wagons Host |

hello all, i have a 2001 ram 1500 2wd quad cab short box with towing package. i also have a travel trailer that has a weight of about 5000 lbs. i have pulled this trailer a few times with no problem but i was hoping to get some feedback to know if im killing my truck or not. everything that ive read says that i can pull up to 7550 lbs. i dont know if i worry too much or im just severely anal. also does anyone know what the proper operating temp for my trans ? thanks for any advice you might have |
