Tribeca 2006 Nav upgrade by ree1

It seems that there are upgrade kits for the 2006 Tribeca to add the 2007 backup sensors...but not the backup camera. Does anyone know if it would be possible to simply replace the 2006 Nav system with the new 2007 system that includes the camera and backup sensors. I don't mind doing all the work in my backyard. Just do not know how possible it is.

I think you can... The retail version of the Kenwood system in the car does support backup camera. I done quite alot of research regarding this but never tried because getting parts was over couple hundred of dollars and it won't garrantee to work...

Which Kenwood Nav system is the retail equivalent of the one in the '07 Tribeca?

I'm not sure what changes there are between the 06 and 07 NAV, but from what I can find on Kenwood's site, the 06 seems to be based off the DV3100 or DV4100.

I think the only thing that will get updated is the map dvd, which is dated 2005...

Anyone hear any concrete info on when the updated software will be out for the nav? Also, I wonder if you can just buy the east coast dvd instead of both.

check ebay. i bet you could find someone that would be willing to sell their west/east coast dvds if they dont want it. if its not there, post a wanted thing on ebay. or check craigslist.

also, i am about to buy an 06 tribeca, and i was wondering.

can you play dvds on the nav screen??
