Just wondering. Did any of you who bought the G6 consider the VW EOS? If not why not? I've looked at both and am leaning toward the EOS based on trunk room and other factors. TIA

Test drove botht he EOS (2.0T) and 07 G6 with the 3.9 eng. Both vechicles drove nice, but two difrent types of rides, also the Eos is coming into the dealers at more $$$ than orignaly advised. B4 taxes be prepared to spend around 36-37k on the EOS! you can get g6 3.9 (sport & prem pkg) for around 30.5K

EOS- Great get up and go and cornering, however feels a bit light and more sports car feeling, like u feel more bumps! (like my old 99slk230).

G6- Also great get up and go. Very solid and more of a cadillac ride. Glides over the bumps!

Hard choice, both have great looks, thow differnt. Really depends on what you want out of a vechicle. Although I know German engineering is great, I'm a bit concerned about having a turbo. Also, the roof section on the Eos concerns me as well. To many parts as it has the sunroof, roof panel and the rear window. Watching it go up and down, i noticed a lot more moving parts and wires than the G6.

I'm leaning towards the G6- New color blue/gold metalic with cream interior is real nice. The radio sounds great, dash is real handsome. Drove it with top down and up. Sure you feel a little cowl with top down, but not enough to bother the avgerage driver.

FYI- to confirm - no gtp for 07, order the gt and get the premium and sports packages and you'll have the same vechile as the 06 GTP!

Also, on the 07 you will not get the ugly door trim!

Lastly, I drove the C70, very nice! a bit slower than the G6 3.9, but a very nice vechicle. You really cant compare with G6 as you will bay about 12-15K more! so if you have it go for it!

I have read some reviews of the EOS, i think on edmunds, most seem to say that the EOS will leave the G6 in the dust, whats the truth?

Hey There, I have driven both cars. Both drive great and have their own negs and poz. I choose to buy the G6 with the 3.9eng and canceled my Eos order. There were different reasons for this choice. over all look. The Eos just looks stubby and bland with the top up. The G6 has a real handsome look both with top up and down. They did a real nice job keeping it sporty looking with the top up. I actually like the look better than the coupe. The cost of the Eos is much more than oriigenaly advertised. They make u think you can buy for 29ish, but fact is with some decent options you up in the mid to high 30's. And overall for me personally, I like the cadillac ride of the G6 over the Eos more sporty handling. I came out of a 99 Slk230, so yes I notice a difference in the vechicles but I knew that before buying.

I also did not like the size of the Eos. very short nose, cramped back seating. But, as mentioned in another message. Everyone needs to do their home work and find the vehicle that is right for them. Drive both cars, locally, highway, get a good feel for them! Good luck

I recently test drove an EOS and agree with a number of the posts. I like the EOS, but have a couple of problems:
1) that top is cool, but looks like a formula for lots of time getting warranty repairs. My old man's Passat has had a lot of gremlins and I suspect the EOS might be the same.
2) our local VW dealer blows and has a horrible reputation for service. Plus, they wanted 37k and 90 days for delivery.

I am about to test drive a G6 (the first domestic car I've ever seriously considered) and have a couple of quick questions:

1) Do the rear seats fold down? We live in Vermont and this car needs to be able haul skis to the slopes
2) Is there an i-pod hook-up? If so, does it allow for controls from the car stereo?
3) How bad is the slush box? I hate automatics and worry that the 4 speed will drive me nuts.

Info and thoughts greatly appreciated!

Both the g6 and Eos are very good choices but both have down falls. The Eos has a beautiful roof but may be trouble.
The g6 is a pontiac so I can't trust it. So I choice the Eos just because something tells me it will be better in the long run.

It's going to be hard to beat the g6. The Eos is a bit higher priced and a lot higher on after warranty repairs. The g6 vs the eos before the warranty runs out is a close race, but if we are talking about the long run, then I believe I would go with the g6.

My last car was a Pontiac Sunfire GT Convertible. It was a piece of junk in comparison to the Eos. I did get 8 years out of it, but had $5,000 worth of repairs the last two. That's what I sold it for! Should have got rid of it sooner. The fit and finish do not compare. Not sure if the G6 is better, but I doubt it.

The Sunfire is a compact car and the G6 is a midsize. That should say a lot about the difference in fit and finish. The Sunfire's fit and finish is never going to be as good as the Eos, because the Sunfire is smaller/cheaper.
