Check the "dealer fee" also as I've read they can be very high in Georgia. I just bought an AWD tech in IL for $38415 & ttl with a $160 dealer fee. The cost to your dealer for those throw in accessories is about $250. So on the surface it doesn't appear to be a real good deal. However, as you said, you have to conside the local market. Atlanta should have plenty of Acura dealers to compete so you should be able to do a little better especially if the "dealer fee" is several hundred dollars.

If one of the 'fees' is destination to be added to your quote, I'd say you could do much better, especially if you're willing to deal before the end of business Saturday(end of the month/quarter...SOMEbody will deal!). With five dealers in the area, you've got some leverage.
You're only $600 off full sticker if your quote does not include destination. Nothing slick about that. If it DOES include destination, you're in the ballpark, I think, for a quick-selling 2013 vehicle. Don't get TOO wrapped up in what you 'hear' as deals unless 'they' can give you the name of the dealer who will give you the same.
You're in one of the auto-driving centers of the universe. That should work in your favor. Five dealers plus one in Athens means serious supply and competition... IF you're ready, get a deal by tomorrow! Email any Internet manager you can find in Atlanta and work those numbers!!!

Did you check where was your Volvo made? What about your Audi? At our local Audi/Volvo dealership, I heard from a mechanic that some of those cars were made in China. I haven't checked on that yet, but I'm not willing to pay $40-50K for a Chinese car yet, whatever logo it is on the car.

Hello All,
I am buying my first new car in 12 years and really would appreciate all the help I can get. I will be buying the 2013 Acura RDX AWD/Tech package. I would like to know if anyone has purchased this car in the Tampa/Orlando area and what the price was. I hate the process of buying a new car and the BS that goes with it. I wish they would have a set price but it is what it is.
Thanks
DJ

From what I can see of the 2 Orlando area dealers, neither stocks AWD

Don't think they have that combination in my part of TX when I test drove it. mlevinedc3 said no RDX AWD Tech in 2 dealerships in your area. Maybe you can look in neighboring cities or order it instead of settling for something else.
Good Luck.

I found three at 'our' dealer in Austin...heck of a drive from central FLA
. I would imagine AWD is a bit less popular in FLA vs other areas, but it seems the inventories are filling in after being pretty sparse for the past few weeks. IF AWD is a stumbling block, I'd ask myself if I really wanted it. We've had an AWD vehicle since '07 but haven't really needed it in all that time. I reckon it came in handy about once a year. I have no idea about your driving needs, so my apologies if AWD is a necessity for you. Heck, we have a mountain house and still never 'needed' the AWD. After 3.3 years with the Volvo XC60 AWD, I'm glad I 'saved' $1400 by going with the FWD in the RDX.(Now, watch it snow 14" in central Texas and central Florida this winter
).

we will in NJ, so do get some snow (some years!) and do go up to upstate NY (AKA snow country) at least once every winter, but I still would have been fine with the FWD model. But, we ended up getting AWD, because it was more available, and the offer I got was too good to pass up (as in, barely more if any than the rare FWD available).
In Fla, it seems to be real overkill, and I certainly would get FWD if that is what dealers stock. Mainly because you can usually get a much better deal on what they have a lot of!

Coach, I like the SH-AWD and that much more hp that comes with it. I haven't even tested it, but I test driven the MDX. I believe the MDX is discounted more than the TL, but MDX-ers pay more at the pump and that could add up pretty quickly. If there's one more shortage on gas or the oil/gas people needed a big bonus, I don't want to be driving an MDX waiting in line for cheap premium-gas. RDX I like too, but how do you find its handling? I'm adore the MDX and would possibly consider buying it if I could get that low D/O price someone reportedly had -- $25,400 + $1300 accessories installed free -- for a base MDX 40 miles reg., but the gas consumption...eek!
Happy for you on your new acquisition. Hope you got a good deal on it too.

Thanks for all the info/advice I really appreciate it. I live in Alaska now and will have a home in the mountains of North Carolina we will be driving to from Florida. I will reconsider the need for AWD. So has anyone bought a FWD in the Ocala/Orlando/Tampa/Jacksonville area? If so I would appreciate info on the buying experience.
