Replying to: carfanatic007 (Jul 26, 2006 11:48 am) I then checked mine and yup it's peeling on one corner. Argh!!!! I called American Honda and filed a complaint which will go to someone. They then recommend going to dealer to repaint. Can a good repaint be done nowadays? I hate bad paint jobs. At least it's the plastic and nothing else. Anyone else?

It seems as though the paint peeling by the bumper (where it meets the car panel) is increasing. Going to check mine everyday. Fitfreak.net has pictures.

Replying to: riposte (Aug 01, 2006 3:43 am) Any particular models? Out of all the Hondas my family has had, we have never had problems with the original paint even on 17 or 18 year old cars. Knock on wood, no problems have appeared yet on the Fit. My last car however was a white Corolla made in a factory Toyota shares with GM. When I washed the car, the paint would come off in my hands.

Replying to: riposte (Aug 01, 2006 3:43 am) All you have to do is take a look around at the older Hondas. I see them all the time. Also, lurk on the Honda enthusiast message boards around the Internet, and you'll find plenty of references to paint fading, delaminating, and chipping easily. |

Replying to: hungarian83 (Aug 01, 2006 5:50 am) Civic Si 2002-2005 from the Swindon plant is known to have peeling paint problems. Specifically on the front bumper. Many manufacturers have experienced paint durability problems since environmentally safe paint facilities were mandated.
