Replying to: jet10000 (Oct 20, 2009 8:17 pm) If I am interpreting the chart correctly, each tire could hande 1279 lbs for the lower rated tire vs. 1356 for the higher. 1279 x 4 = 5116 1356 x 4 = 5424 So the load carrying capacity of the car would be reduced by 318 lbs. 5,116 lbs sounds like plenty for a vehicle with a curb weight of 2,657 lbs.

| I need new tires for my 2000 Honda 4-door Civic. I have Michelin now and would prefer to economize if possible and still get decent-quality wheels. I live in northern California and very occasionally might drive over icy roads. My mechanic has recommended Uniroyal TP Tour as a mid-range choice. Any recommendations out there? | |
