It is no secret that the Acura RL is a rebadged Honda LEGEND. The Acura brand has been created for the North American Market. However the LEGEND is still a stellar vehicle, even if sales and marketing do not acknowlege it as such. You will be interested in knowing that the Acura brand is now being exported to Asia and eventually Europe. It has not even existed in Japan where the LEGEND / RL is built. In some countries where the LEGEND now lives, it will be rebadged as Acura RL. Honda recognized its limitations selling expensive premium vehicles under a brand known for economical and value priced vehicles. Acura will be the premium brand for the LEGEND.

Now don't get too label concious because Lexus too is not offered in all markets. Lexus too was not sold in Japan either. And perhaps to your dismay, there are Lexus vehicles sold in other markets as Toyotas. Did that just chunk off your luxury perceptions?

This person is a slow learner, everyone know that a Acura RL is a Acura Legend, and a Lexus is a Toyota. In Japan, there's is no Acura or Lexus, there's only Honda and Toyota. So the Acura RL or Acura Legend is a Honda Legend and for Lexus it just a Toyota, there's is no Lexus.

I think that point has already been made clear. No need to pile on.

Did you not hear, RL means real legend. LOL heheheheh Hey, I am just kidding. Maybe, you are right but are you one hundred percent sure. The system matches yours. The transmission and engine are the same. How about the computers on board . The sound system and so forth. You know looks are very deceiving . I respect the way you feel but do you know that a Lexus is a soup up Camry.. or I should say a re badge Camry. It looks like you are in the same boat either way, you loose. You know what, I am not buying any of those cars...I will stick with my 88 Legend that beats any new car in town in speed and response close enough to American muscle cars. Easy in gas too.

R L means re- badge Legend. heheheh LOL... sorry. name won't take you to the mall or to work..bottom line, the car should ride the way you wanted it run, to move with responsive handling. and take off power. I buy my car because it runs and works responsively into my wishes while driving. I don't buy a car because of the name and my fr*#king neighbor have it. This is how I feel and I think it is fair logic.

To be accurate, it's well known that the mid-priced Lexus ES is a dressed-up Camry. But the top-line Lexus LS is a completely unique vehicle, and a very elaborately engineered one at that.

For that matter, the Acura TL is a pumped-up Accord, and the Audi A4 shares most components with the lowliest VW Rabbit. Toyota's not the only one doing it.
