Article comments for First Drive: 2007 Ford Expedition - Skyrocketing fuel costs have reduced the large SUV market from 1 million units in 2004 to an estimated 650,000 this year. Retaining market share in this climate means offering more and selling it for less. Ford, apparently, has figured this out. (more)

I saw the 2007 Expedition today and was wondering if it came with Blue Tooth? The salesman didn't know and the Ford Web site does not give any information regarding the Blue Tooth. Although you can get Blue Tooth on the Navigator. Does anyone know if you can get Blue Tooth with the 2007 Expedition?

I just brought homean 07 EXP t show the wife. She si sick of the minivan thing and wants another vehicle. She likes it also and for waht you get for the price compared to others in this class, the Ford takes it hands down. I am waiting for my dealre to find me one that has what I want. Regarding the air suspension, is there really a difference. The new suspension on the 07 now is great. What will the air suspension bring to the table??? |

The biggest benefit of the Air Suspension is that it is auto leveling. This prevents the rear from "dragging" when you load up the truck. This is especially handy if you are towing. The air suspension also "kneels" the truck when it is stopped which could help you get into it if the truck's height is a problem. Ford always loved air suspensions so people who owned lots of big Fords look for this feature. Mark. |

| Initial reviews for the Expo look good. I'm wondering why the new Navigator is getting such poor reviews? Same car, more gadgets, different (and perhaps more offensive) sheet metal. Perhaps it's the competition? I'm looking for a large SUV, with all the gadgets, that can tow greater than 6000 lbs. Lack of fold flat seats is almost a deal breaker. That leaves the Durango/Aspen, Armada/QX56, Expedition/Navigator. | |

Replying to: igor2 (Aug 11, 2006 8:08 am) I owned a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer and a 2004 Chevy Tahoe. Unless I drove like my grandmother in a heavy fog during a monsoon (not exaggerating), I never got EPA Both vehicles got 14 mpg in mixed driving, and 55% of my driving was highway. I borrowed my friends 2006 F150 while he learned to drive a stick in my 2003 Saturn Vue. I got 18 in mixed driving. But then again, I get 25 to 26 in mixed drivig in my Vue and he only got 22. He also agreed to replace my clutch. Something about revving the engine and riding the clutch, but I digress. If you are purchasing or thinking about purchasing one of these vehicles, and doing so for the right reasons, MPG should be the least of your worries. Horsepower should be a concern either. Now torque...I agree that that should be the main concern for anyone considering either the Expy or the GM Tahoe clones. Pulling that camper or boat and not needing a tow truck on the other hand should be at the top of your list. If you aren't buying for the 'right' reasons (read as vanity or show), both companies sell really nice minivans that get excellent gas mileage for the same people hauling capacities. But don't take my word for that, check out the recent magazines and web comparisons and do the research yourself. |
