Hi mickeyrom. You need to repost both of your messages in either the Kia Optima 2006 and earlier discussion or the one about the 2007 Optima, whichever is appropriate.

What we are talking about here is reactions to the article which is linked at the top of the page. Have you read it? What did you think?

Try this: click on this link Kia Optima and check out the list of discussions. You can post in one that seems appropriate, or you can click on Add New Discussion (on the right, just over the list), and create a new one. Feel free to email me with any questions - pat AT edmunds.com.

Re: interior appointments...

The EX has a trip computer, tinted glass, a "real" armrest, leather interior, adjustable steering column and pedals, and all of the amenitites above-mentioned. The 5-speed auto-stick is unbelievably smooth. I've driven nearly every car in this size and cannot believe that Kia built this clearly superior transmission!

So I bought one - with the 4-cylinder. Car & Driver got it right when they printed that you don't get much more "oopmh" with the six.

MPG to date averages about 27 with my highest at 30 and my lowest at 22. All in all a quiet, comfortable sedan with all the bells and whistles for $20K. Kis will deal with you!

EX has a leather interior only if you pay for it.Standard is cloth. It takes either the appearance package or the Leather package to get leather.BTW,how do you feel about a trip computer that doesn't show the MPG?
