Replying to: mattyk19 (Dec 25, 2007 7:13 pm) I was so welcome to see your clutch problem, and as many others stated, it can't be my driving habilts as you have driven mannual your whole life. Me too. I find my 2005 Frontier clutch is bad at 47,000 miles. The dealer says it is not covered unless they open it up (with my authorization for $400 if not covered) and it is a spring. For a truck that is supposed to be rated for a towing capacity of 5000 punds plus what a buch a nonesense. My dealer has reffered me to nissan. I was wondering how you made out with your situation. Thank you, judy |

| Considering buying this for my 16yr old...........w/94K miles on it for 5K. Not sure if I will as it does not have side air bags. I used to have a 98 Maxima that ran forever and was very reliable. Any thoughts on the reliability of this model, and specific issues/parts inherent to the 03 Xterra? | |

On the 2009 Xterra Manual Transmission 6-Speed is the parking brake a handbrake in the center console or is it somewhere else? Thanks.

| i was getting 11 mpg......on my 2005 xterra. the problem was when i cleaned the battery posts, i did not realize that the ecu got re-set and when i started engine it was on its re-learning air/fuel mixture procedure...... you must keep rpm's from 1000 to 1500 and not go above that for the following: take truck to open highway with low rpm's and get up to 60 mph for 15 minutes. i drove with low rpm's for 2 days just to make sure. took a 265 road trip and was back to 20's mpg. so if you notice your mpg abnormal, this should be the reason. the mechanic showed me on his nissan computer that my engine was performing at 86% prior to re-setting ecu. | |
