Nissan Xterra, SUV

I bought my Xterra in December '99 and still love it. However, I have had a couple of problems and just wanted to see if any of you have run across the same: In October 2000, my A/C high pressure hose had a leak- of course, at that time it was still under warranty, so it was replaced at the dealer. Just this month, I had the exact same problem. I have 42K miles on my car and since the repair was done over 12 months ago, I was on my own. When I called around auto part stores, they were all surprised that I needed that part so quickly- I explained to them I needed it twice already! None of the stores I called had that part yet. I filed a petition w/Nissan Manufacturer and luckily, they repaired it for me. But... here is my question- why should a truck about 2½ years old have this problem with the A/C high pressure hose leaking? Mind you, I live in San Antonio, so the summers can be pretty brutal, but any feedback?

Thanks to all for the feedback. I may try the bedliner spray as a last resort. I am hoping they will get it right on the 4th try.

Is the hose actually leaking or is it coming off? It's probably a clamp that isn't on correctly. Pretty common on many X's.
Or you have too much pressure entering the hose. Did they ever do a diagnostic on the A/C and compressor? If not, that could have something to do with it.

Hey! Just got a 2002 Xterra - and am now addicted to this great truck. Does anyone know where some of the cool TV ads can be found on the internet?

Hello, maybe someone here can help me...I've had my Xterra for 6 months now, and I can't seem to stop this extremely annoying passenger seat shake.
I've taken the truck to the dealer for tire work, I've taken it to Midas and nothing...the shake on some roads is so bad, that even with someone sitting on the seat, it shakes them as well...and at speeds between 65 and 75, on open highway (I live in Miami, Fl. and travel to Disney World a lot on it...) the shake is unbearable...it feels like if the whole truck is coming apart. Can anyone please help me...I love my truck...but I can't take the shaking...

Is the passenger seat physically shaking? As in, it's not secured to the floor? Or do you mean there is a vibration from somwhere that can only be felt while sitting in the passenger seat?
If you mean the latter, it could be a lot of things. Without more specifics, I'd ask them to check:
Driveline (could be a harmonic imbalance somewhere)
Engine mounts (known to break in a very few cases with Xterras. not likely, but it's a possibility.)
Tires (balancing out of whack)
Something in the right suspension (did you bend a tie rod? Is you CV joint leaking or damamged? Anything under there not look right?) Do you offroad?
I'd ask them first about it being a driveline problem. Maybe all you need is a new shaft, which is no big deal.
#2135 of 2816 shaking seats too.....

I have a 2002 Xterra SE and just recently have had problems with my passenger seat shaking side to side in the front. I noticed that some else also had the same problem. I took it to the dealership and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. They told me that when they went and test drove a brand new X just like mine the passenger seat did the same thing. However, I don't ever remember the seat shaking and vibrating like that when I bought it. Is this really normal?? Please let me know if anyone has this same thing going on. Thanks.

Happy new owner of a yellow 2002 SE/SC automatic. Other than MPG, only complaint is that the cruise control seems to run with a slight jerky feel. Anyone else experience a problem?

I am looking to get a 2002 SE/SC and saw a couple of messages on the passenger seats shaking. Just wanted to know if any of you sent a message directly to Nissan and did they have any answers for you.
