Article comments for First Drive: 2007 Porsche Cayman - Our weekend thrash of the new standard/regular/base/normal 2007 Porsche Cayman on German back roads and autobahns instantly revealed that this S-less wünder retains much of the inherent goodness and finely honed driving behavior of the original high-performance, 2-seat, midengine/rear-drive Cayman S coupe. Replying to: smuglich (Sep 16, 2006 5:00 pm) MSRP: $54,350 Gross Cap: $47,650 Cap Cost Reduction: $ 2,174 Residual: $40,0185.70 License: $359 Doc Prep: $790 (!) Monthly before Tax: $498.82 Drive-off with 1st month: $4,038 MF: I belive it works out to about 7.5% I broke a golden rule and purchased this car strictly on the amount down and monthly. Even though I know they padded the document and perhaps the license, I thought it to be the best I could ever get. Good luck!

Replying to: bgsntth (Sep 21, 2006 3:21 pm) MSRP: $54,635 Acq Fee: $795 Gross Cap: $? Cap Cost Reduction: $ 0 Residual: 59% License: $85 Doc Prep: $250 Monthly including Tax: $650 Drive-off with 1st month: $1,730 MF: 0.00346% or 8.3% Sounds like a good deal. We had issues trying to get any local Porsche dealers to follow up, even though we have a 2003 Boxster (that would include our previous salesman). After writing a letter, we got the franchise owner involved and we feel he's made us a fair offer, although obviously certain items are subject to change. We too were geared towards the monthly payment. I absolutely love my Boxster, so I'm sure this car will be great fun too. There aren't that many Boxsters around here, so there certainly will be less Caymans. Thanks for your input! |

Looks like you got a great deal too, and verified that my doc and license fees were indeed padded. But I belive my purchase price was straight invoice, so they had to pad it somewhere. I know I got the straight MF from Porsche Finance. Happy motoring! |
