Dodge said throttle pos.sensor bad...spent $500+ on new one... was not the problem... did all the electrical diagnostics...now stuck with it... Have to replace ECM $1200 dollars...To get it from a cummins dealer you need your engine number and the ECM serial number... Anybody need a new TPS???

What about kerosene as cleaner and lubricant in the fuel? How much can you put in? Will it work as and anti algae?

I own a 2003 dodge ram diesel. It has about 106,000 miles on it. One morning it took longer to start than usual. This progressively got worse as days wen't on, until one morning it just would not start. I changed the fuel filter but that did not help. I then decided to plug the block heater in at night and it started everytime. All the fuses are good. I even replaced the fuel heater relay located on the filter housing. Now that it's colder at night even the block heater plugged in won't help it start. Can anyone help? Replying to: daddyhawkes (Dec 05, 2008 9:13 pm) Have your batteries tested. There's a reason it takes two of them to crank the engine. If you have one good one and one bad one, you will see these hard-starting symptoms, even though once running, everything seems fine (the truck can run on one battery once the engine is operating). And the reason the block heater helped is, a warm engine will always start easier than a cold one... but as the batteries continue to lose charge, that won't help either.   Progressively hard starting has always been my cue to get a fresh pair of batteries with my Cummins Rams.   kcram - Pickups Host
