Actually, the 2004 models went like this:
first half of model-year 2004 (trucks produced through November 2003)
- California output (CARB states) 235/460
- "High output" (non-CARB states) 305/555
With production beginning in December 2003, there was just one engine in all 50 states, rated at 325/600.
On the driver's side of the engine is a large sticker identifying the engine size and output. If it says "ISB 325" you have the "2004-1/2" truck; all others are the early 2004s (ISB 235 or ISB 305).
The 250/460 (non-CARB states) engine was only available in the 2003 model year. Once the automatic transmission became available with the 305 in midyear 2003, the 250 engine was dropped.

I did get the DVD and I did watch it just like I read the owners manual. I don't let my vehicle idle except at a traffic light or stopped in traffic. I normally drive my vehicle at speeds of 40 or higher and it is ran for usually about 45 minutes 99 percent is open highway. It has been in the shop four times for this problem with the last time being from Monday to Friday I got it back and on Sunday the light came back on. Dodge or the machanics don't seem to know how to fix it. The veh is an expensive piece of junk.

You people are spooking me. I just bought my 1st diesel (CTD) Ram 2500 6.7. I've had the catylst full message twice in the three weeks I've owned it. Yesterday, I got the engine light and took it in. Hope to have it back today after they said they need to blow out the turbo. My question is: the Service Manager asked how often I ran the exhaust brake. I said never and he recommended I keep it on continuously. I don't know much yet about this Blutech system, but it seems to me that running the exhaust brake is going to hurt my MPG. It doesn't seem that great as it is right now. Comments please before I pick it up today...

APPARENTLY THE ONLY WAY THIS TRUCK WILL FUNCTION PROPERLY IS AT INTERSTATE SPEEDS WITH A HEAVY LOAD. THIS TRUCK WILL NOT WORK FOR EVERY DAY TOOLING AROUND. I'M GLAD DODGE BOUGHT MINE BACK. THAT TRUCK WILL BE A MONEY PIT FOR IT'S OWNERS WHEN THE WARRANTY EXPIRES. I'M SORRY FOR ANYONE THAT HAS BOUGHT ONE OR IS PLANNING ON BUYING ONE BECAUSE YOU'RE IN FOR ONE PROBLEM AFTER ANOTHER WITH THAT BLUE TEC EMISSIONS SYSTEM.

My MIL light came on and stayed on at 16,000 miles. It is past the 12,000mi/12 month lemon Law in my State. My truck is in its 3rd week at the Dealer. It is on a National Backorder for the Turbo speed sensor. I bought the Truck new in Sept 07 and I am very disappointed with the MPG. My previous CTD got great MPG both towing and commuting.
The MIL "on" I have had problems for 5 weeks now. Turbo boost low sensor, and then speed sensor. They replaced O2 sensor and reflashed. Installed a carbon clean out pipe. I have my "FILE" opened at Chryler and factory tech is at dealer now. Today they borrowed part from a NEW TRUCK to run a test!
Basically I would suggest you GET YOUR MONEY BACK ASAP! Check your NADAGUIDES for the CTD and non-CTD Truck TMV. You'll be shocked!

My previous post I listed NADAGUIDES. It is www.nadaguides.com. If you compare 3 engines offered in the 2007 3500 in the used car listing you will see 3 prices. The 5.7 hemi=$1,000.00, then 6.7 CTD=$500.00, or 5.9L HO CTD=$6,600.00.
The 6.7L CTD was announced 24 Jan 2007 and shipped about Mid March, so you could have 2007 CTD with the 5.9L CTD. The 5.9L was fantastic!
TMV is indicating that the 6.7L CTD is worthless. If in doubt check it out, yourself!

Does any body know what differences there are between the 05 and 06 ram 2500 diesels? Is the body any different, the only thing I can see is wood paneling in the interior.

IF YOU'VE HAD CHRONIC CHECK ENGINE LIGHT PROBLEMS AND YOU ARE BEYOND LEMON LAW LIMITS YOU CAN STILL FILE FOR ARBITRATION. THE ARBITRATOR WILL HEAR YOURS AND DODGES CASES AND CAN MAKE THE DECISION FOR DODGE TO REPURCHASE YOUR TRUCK AND IF THAT DOESN'T WORK YOU CAN STILL SUE DODGE. MY ADVISE IS TO GET OUT OF THAT TRUCK WHILE YOU CAN, ANY WAY YOU CAN.
