Hey oldtech, thanks for your reply. Beleive it or not I just got the call from the factory rep and he needs me to have the dealer document the light being on and then will call me back to proceed with the buyback. They have already asked me if I would consider a gas replacement but I told him no since the main reason we purchased the vehicle was for the economy and on the highway I have been getting an average of 18-19.5/gallon. At this point I need to move on and buy something else that does not need to to be taken to the dealer so often. It funny but I was looking at the Honda Ridgeline just for curiosity and that small truck only gets 20MPG on the highway.
Well I will email you again in a few days................

I'M GLAD YOU FINALLY GOT SOMETHING GOING. I KNOW DODGE WILL DO THE RIGHT THING IF GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY. I MAY HAVE ALREADY TOLD YOU BUT I DID TRADE MY DIESEL FOR A 1500 HEMI AND BELIEVE IT OR NOT THE HEMI GETS ABOUT THE SAME MILEAGE AS THE DIESEL. I'M AVERAGING 16.5 AND GETTING OVER 18 ON THE HIGHWAY. WITH DIESEL FUEL RUNNING 60 TO 80 CENTS A GALLON HIGHER THAN GASOLINE. AT THESE PRICES I'M HAPPIER WITH THE GAS ENGINE. KEEP IN TOUCH .

hi all,i have a 08 2500 ctd 6.7 and it has been in the shop 3 times for the light.it has only 3378 miles.i hope this is not going to be a steady thing with this truck.also the parking break turned lose and it rolled down and hit my boat.the dealer said there was nothing wrong with the break.OK if there was nothing wrong why did it turn lose by its self?BTW i was not in the truck when it went.i was allmost in front of it.just a word of warning WATCH OUT WHEN YOU USE THE PARKING BREAK.THEY TURN LOSE BY THEM SELF.

Did you have a problem with the filter everyone is talking about. Will they buy back the truck if this filter is not fixable..and keeps going out.

Our truck is sitting in the shop now..and they said it will be a month before they get the nationally back ordered part. And the Service manager told us this will continue to keep happening...and to fix the truck it costs $10,000 each time...What are we supposed to do when the warranty runs out and this part goes out at $10,000 a pop

I HAD TROUBLE WITH JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING ON THE BLUTEC EMISSION SYSTEM ON MY 6.7. THE DEALER REPLACED THE O2 SENSORS, THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR, THE EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION VALVE AND THE TURBO CHARGER. THEY CLEANED THE EGR PORTS TWICE AND PERFORMED A CONTROLLED BURN OFF OF THE PARTICULATE CATALYST TWICE. I HAD 7 CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS IN 6000 MILES WHICH PUT MY TRUCK IN LEMON LAW STATUS. I KNEW THIS TRUCK WAS GOING TO BE A MONEY PIT SO I ASKED DODGE TO BY IT BACK. THEY DID BUY IT BACK AND I NOW HAVE A 2008 DODGE RAM 1500 WITH THE HEMI ENGINE. I HAVE HAD NO TROUBLE WITH THE NEW TRUCK AND IT GETS ABOUT THE SAME MILEAGE AS THE DIESEL. BY THE WAY. IT DOESN'T COST 10,000.00 FOR A PARTICULATE CATALYST. THEY COST ABOUT 2400.00 DOLLARS INSTALLED AT THE DEALER AND THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO LAST ABOUT 125000 MILES. YOU SHOULD PETITION DODGE FOR A BUY BACK BECAUSE THIS BLUTEC EMISSIONS SYSTEM IS SOME SERIOUS JUNK ON THE 6.7 CUMMINS DODGE TRUCK. GOOD LUCK AND KEEP ME POSTED.

problems continue..... by niknar

I went a whole month without my engine light coming on and I was hoping that maybe..just maybe it was fixed. My engine light came on today for at least the 12th time, but who can keep track at this point. My truck is now over one year old. I tried to have it lemon lawed back in the beginning, but they were splitting the finest of hairs and refused. I have talked to dodge reps each time it has been in the shop, but continue to be told it is a "fixable problem". Does anyone have any advice or am I totally out of luck at this point? When I have looked into trading this vehicle in on a hemi, they were wanting to give me $23,000 for a $41,000 truck.
