Mitsubishi has to re-design the car to prevent the paint chipping. Several members in this forum have given viable solutions for this problem and I though that is it, and period. We are going back again to the same subject. Mitsubishi at least should offer free “mudflats” not mudguards. The mudflats have shown to solve the problem until Mitsubishi re-design the Outlander perhaps for 2012.

I was wondering where to get flexible mud flaps in Canada or the US
that are like the ones I seen in this forum They have outlander on them
For anyone interested my dealer said he will fix my paint and pay for my rental
I am putting the 3M protectant on after this. Dealer also wants to know about the mud flaps also.
Thanks

The mudguard are only 50% effective. The mud flap are 100% effective (and this is a fact). I repeat in this forum are many members that have given solutions. There are nothing better than the mud flap. The OEM mud flap is not sold in the USA but can be imported (a bit expensive). I got all of them and they look great (it was imported through a UK importer). The part number is MZ531328

I agree they are very effective, but it doesn't have to be imported to be effective. You can get similar products locally at 1/10 of the price of imports, even less. Unless of course the "outlander" name on the mudflap matters a lot to you.

We dont have road salt here, but I did notice some mud sprays going up the rear door flares. this was in spite of having dealer-installed mud flaps (which were also too short and narrow). I ordered a set of running boards and that somehow eliminated the splashes.

The running boards look great. How much were they with installation?
