We have had our CX-7 GT FWD for two years come Oct. 5, 2008. Our total milage is just below 12,000 miles.
The vehicle has been trouble free since we owned it. Mazda did replace a computer chip which controls the shifting of the six speed transmission.
Milage has been ok. In town very heavy traffic we get an average of 16-17mpg.
Hwy milage especially on long trips 22-26mpg.
The unit is a blast to drive. You feel as though you are glued to the road. The suspension is a little stiff, but check out on the last Edmunds road test trials. It out performs everything in its class. Edge is faster in 0-60mph. But after that is doesnot stay very close in all the test track manuvers.
Ford is a good choice but drive both and then make a decision. Looks, Feel, etc.

Good Luck!

Give it a 12.8:1 compression ratio as is deserved of a modern DFI engine and the FE would improve dramatically.

But then the turbo would be slower spinning up (maybe a "good" thing..??) due to the shortage of "waste" exhaust gas (ENERGY) exiting the combustion chamber.

The Edmunds Incentives page just shows low financing (0 to 2.9% APR) on the '09 CX-7, for the Philly zip code I checked. Same for my Boise zip code.

Are you hearing of cash on the hood too?

I see $1500 customer lease support at the Mazda site for my zip code, but just the low interest for buying a CX-7. That deal didn't show for a Dallas zip code.

It could be the dealer's own incentive, or some bonus bucks the dealer got for some reason, or maybe you're in a very special zip code.

Maybe someone will have the scoop to your same question over in the Mazda CX-7 Prices Paid and Buying Experiences discussion.
