Sounds like this Lexus dealer is using its first 450h as a demo car rather than trying to quickly sell it, which is kind of surprising given the demand and absence of supply. The dealer I am working with received its first one with intent to sell as they didn't see any reason to demo it with so few coming in to each dealer. They have a list of potential buyers and figure they will sell their allotment to those on the list or perhaps others via the uniformly great press the car is getting so far.

I have had mine for 10 days now and no complaint. The new Gen 5 NAV has great graphic and the voice command is much improved, although there are about 100 specific commands that must be memorized if you want to utilize it fully (but things like "volume down" are not really necessary since you can do that on the steering wheel). Power is great and the mileage is pretty impressive for a rocketship. Handles very well. Firm, but not harsh. Very pleased so far.

There were a flurry of reports about the GS450h arriviing and then nothing. Has anybody heard anything? My sales lady, who I don't have a lot of confidence in, originally told me Apr 15, then May 1, and now May 15.
Anybody heard anything else?

My dealer's first one came in earlier this week and I was the buyer for it, actually taking delivery of it yesterday. They received another one yesterday as well so I guess there will be another one driving around Seattle soon. These are standard versions not Neiman Marcus (NM) ones and both are black which the dealer says will be the only flavor they will be coming in. I believe they had one NM version that they have already delivered to its customer.

Am wondering what the best mpg is that you can get.
I read that you can get 20 or so, if you are driving it hard.
But how do you do on a typical 70 mph highway commute?
I'm waiting for the sporty 4-seater that is fun to drive, but that can also get 40 mpg if you take it easy.
Also, how is it in your typical driving? (i.e. normal around town, mixed with commute- your "normal" conditions)
ps I'd also like to see more pics. My e-mail address is in my profile, if you have time to send some.

I have been getting 24 mpg with 70% City and 30% Highway driving.
When I looked for your email to send pix, it said "Email: private"

Did you or any of the other get the satellite radio? If so, what provider and where are they mounting the antenna?

I just returned from a trip from DC to Baltimore on I-95. Got 30.2 MPG going up without the AC on and traveling about 70 MPH. Had the AC on coming back and got about 28.9 MPG

I'd be surprised if the AC impacted MPG. The AC runs off of the batteries and not the engine from what I understand.
Where were you driving 'up' from. I'm in NC.
