Replying to: ztinier (Dec 23, 2006 6:03 pm) I also see that you are considering leasing your Rabbit for a very long time. There's nothing wrong with a 48 month lease, but 60 months and 72 months are way too long. Consumers who lease for that long often find themselves wanting to get out of their leases early for a number of reasons, including a change in commute, a change in their family situation, etc... It is usually very expensive to get out of leases early. I would be happy to give you my opinion on the selling price and lease payments that you were quoted if you provide me with this car's MSRP. Replying to: jupiler (Dec 28, 2006 12:45 pm) I see that you were not able to negotiate much of a discount on the Rabbit that you are interested in. I actually am not surprised. Volkswagen is not currently providing any cash incentives on the 2007 Rabbit and the spread between its full MSRP and dealer invoice price is only around $700 on a base model. If you shop around you may be able to shave another hundred or two off of this car's price, but there is not a whole lot of room to play with. Once you arrive at a selling price that you are comfortable with, have the dealer calculate your car's monthly payment using its buy rate lease money factor. Volkswagen Credit's current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 39 month lease of a 2007 Rabbit 4-Door with 10,000 miles per year are .00314 and 61%, respectively.
