Something I can do myself? And where do I get it from?

you can definitely do it yourself...its no more difficult than an oil change...actually easier since all you do is drain it out and refill it with the same amount of new fluid that you drained out of old fluid. You can get the Z1 fluid at any Honda dealer...You may also be able to find it online. Its not inexpensive (~$9 a qt as I understand) but its the fluid that your trans was designed to use.
I don't own one so I can't give too many tips but I bet a quick internet search or 2 will give you all the info that you need.
#259 of 328 problems with 2004 saturn vue

I am having some real issues with my 2004 4 cy saturn vue. I bought this car in November 2003 and only have 116K miles on the car. I took the car in for regular service at Saturn until they closed the dealership here. I have been taking it to another GM dealership since then. My issues are as follows. First, there is a deep whirling sound the car makes as soon as I step on the gas and when the car slows down. The sound is still there when I am driving, but not as loud. Then, the car makes this annoying sound when it is in park and in neutral. Also, the car has a knocking sound for about five mins. after the car is cut off. And to top it all off, the rpms jump up now and then when I am driving at a steady speed. Oh, and at about 68 mph, the car starts to shake. I have been looking online about recalls for various parts on my car, but I can't find any. And since saturn no longer exists, the only dealership that looks at my car says that there is only one thing wrong...I need a transmission (which is going to cost me like 6K. I'm tripping cause my car never gave me any problems until the month after they closed the saturn here.

I also believe your issues revolve around your transmission - Your Vue likely has a VTi transmission based on the price of the trans repair.
Unfortunately, the VTi transmission has had a well documented record of premature failures. There is no good news at this point...do some internet searching - there is/was a class action suit about it, also GM was offering a trade in deal for Vue owners with the VTi transmission.
Good Luck...

My VUE's engine light came on so I took it to the dealership. It has 45k miles so it's still under warranty. They hooked it up and said one cylinder was misfiring due to a stuck valve. They removed the engine and fixed it last week. This morning it started sputtering really bad...like a terrible idle and the engine light came on flashing and also the traction lights on the dashboard are lit. I immediately took it back to the dealership and they are going to look at it tomorrow. I'm upset cause this VUE had no issues until they fixed the misfire....it drove smooth and now it's awful! Anyone know what could cause this and if there is something I need to watch out for. I'm sure they will diagnose tomorrow but I wanted to post on here also. Thanks!

Have you heard back on a diagnosis, hkolln?

#265 of 328 2008 Saturn Vue Duel Fuel Pumps problems
by mina1019

Has anyone had problems with their Saturn Vue Fuel Pumps. I just purchased this Vue in July, I haven't had it 6 months or driven 6000 miles & the dealership is asking for $1400 + to replace 2 fuel pumps & the sensor. The car isn't even 4 years old. I've always driven Honda and never had this many problems.
The car takes a long time to turn over sometimes & when I fill up the gauge goes to fuel, I drive about 3 miles the next time I start the car the fuel gauge has jumped to just below 3/4 of a tank, then once I restart the car again, the gauge is back on full.
I have 4 service records on this car already & this mess isn't even covered by the powertrain warranty.
I believe this issue was happening way before I purchased the car but the dealership didn't acknowledge the issue when they "inspected" the car. I'm highly upset that a car that isnt even 5 years old has required so much work!
