I'm playing MP3's just fine in my 2008 civic hybrid from an 8GB SanDisk Extreme III CF card inserted into a PPA 1134 PC Card adapter. Both available at New Egg.com or Fry's. The trick is that you must reformat the card (FAT32) and cannot label it in Windows XP (eg. JBs_8GB or something cute). I'm happy to be using that slot now after having several online orders canceled when trying to buy the highly rated SanDisk SDDR-64-784 because it's no longer being made/sold. - also 32bit CardBus adapters will not work. 2009's IMA has a USB port instead

The Transcend 2GB 133X TS2GCF133 works with the SanDisk SDAD-38-A10 PC card adapter bought the adapter on clearance at BB for $7. Will try a 4GB next.

#53 of 59 Question about new Hybrid options...
Oct 27, 2008 (8:17 am)
I just purchased a 2009 Honda Civic Hybrid and was having the Bass Speaker System and 8 CD Changer installed as add-ons, until I discovered the port for my mp3 player. Since I can play albums with my player I decided Ito forgo the 8 CD Changer, which has not been installed. The dealer gave me a runaround about how they had given me the add-ons at no charge, so there would be no refund if I decided not to get it, until I balked. They finally agreed to install an XM Radio and give me the All Season Floor Mats in exchange for the Changer. My question is this: With the Honda site pricing the XM radio at $310, All Season Mats at $117 for a total of $427 and the Changer at $596--did I get a fair deal? They went on about how the XM radio cost more to install, etc. than the changer. I just don't want to give them getting off the hook for anything after what I went thru to finagle the deal I got. Any opinions or comments would be appreciated.

i asked for the auto dimming rear view mirror and the edge guards for the doors. I unfortunately got the cd changer installed. Now that I have been shown how to use the mp3 player it is a waste of space and time. I only use the mp3 player now.
I's ask for more their cost is low.
#55 of 59 SD/CF card acess is faster than USB
Jul 24, 2009 (4:03 am)
I thought I would let everyone know my recent finding with the built in nav audio player: I have found that the USB access to display folder and tracks is slower than using a SD card put in the card reader. I am planning on buying a 16GB SD card that can double as a memory card for my camera as well as the one to hold songs.
Please post if you had any success with any 16 GB SD card.

I bought a PPA 1134 PC Card adapter from Newegg and the stereo just beeps at me and wont close the face when it is inserted. Does the card have to get inserted so far that the little door closes or is it normal for the CF card to stick out past the little face by 1/4"? I have a 2GB Sandisk extreme III CF card that I formated in Windows with FAT32 with no label. I have 10 MP3 songs in the root directory as a test.
Any help you could provide would really be appreciated.

I also bought the PPA 1134 PC Card adapter from Newegg and I'm also getting the stereo beeping at me and not closing the face.
It seems like the card sticks out a bit from the slot. I purchased this card based on earlier posts that this particular card worked in the slot.
Maybe I'm not applying enough force to get the card to "seat" in the slot. I'm trying not to get it jammed in there.
Any help would be appreciated.
#58 of 59 which SDHC Card reader and max SDHC card capacity
Nov 19, 2009 (7:36 pm)
Folks, a couple of questions:
1. Did you have any success using a SDHC PCMCIA card reader in the nav unit?
2. What is the max SDHC card capacity that you were able to use with the above adapter?
I have only been able to use a SD card reader with a max 2GB SD card so far.
PS: I don't want to use a CF card and reader since I am living in the SD ecosystem now (camera, cell, readers on laptop/desktop, etc. all use SD only.)

Have a '06 LX but they didn't include the aux input for some stupid reason...Honda y'all f'ed up terribly here! Is my only way around this failure a new head unit? If so, I'm going to go all the way with aux/usb inputs, Bluetooth and XM capable since I'm probably looking at swapping out the head unit here. Have vehicle up for sale but if I end up keeping this puppy, then gonna improve the music availability as I really love Sirius/XM at this point. What head units would y'all recommend and is there a way to just do the aux input here and save myself a few bucks in the process? Not surre what my options are here so asking the experts here.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks all.
