Replying to: cowboy9 (Aug 23, 2008 4:37 pm) I want to start by saying thanks for taking the time to reply to my message! You were a great help. I have moved three times in the past year and half and did not get the notice of the recall. When I dropped it off at ford I told them that I heard there was a recall. They told me it would be a $131.00 charge just to put it on the computer. Two days later they said they fixed it and there was no chrage! It was the Cam Sensor and was covered by Ford. It seems my luck is starting to change. Since this Divorce it seems everything has been bad luck! But maybe this is a sign of things turning! LOL. Thanks greatly Tony! Steve

I know what you mean about Divorces and really glad you was able to have a change of luck and hopefully things keep getting better for you Steve as someone that has been through it twice I know what you are going through. Again you are very welcome! Tony

I feel for you going through two of them. I say, "I will never say I do again" but in reality, I probably would if under the correct circumstnces. When I open the hood of any vehicle, it is like a foreign language to me. I normally do not post on these message boards but figured I would give it a try. Once again, thanks for taking the time to inform me of possible reasons for it acting up. I wish you the best of luck with anything you do in the future! Take care Steve |

| I've got a 2001 Ford F250 with the 7.3 diesel and I've replaced cam sensors like 2 or 3 times since I've had it. Recently, it started doing the same thing it's done in the past when the cam sensor was bad; it'll either miss out or just cut out and die. Usually it will restart after just a few minutes. I added some Cetane boost and replaced the fuel filter, and it still kept dying on me. So, now I have replaced the cam sensor and it's still doing it. Anybody else had a similar problem or have any ideas? | |

hello the engine in my 93 f-350 dually crew cab with 5 speed manual trans acts up over 2500 rpm. It cracks and farts kind of like a gas engine with a bad cap or wires. If I sit in neutral or if i'm on a hill pulling the engine just carrys on above 2500. Has anyone had a similar problem and give me someplace to start looking. I bought a repair manual that covers the F series but does not include the 7.3 can anyone recommend a book that does cover the 7.3 diesel thank you Jay |
