I just picked up my new '08 Camry and got a great deal. The car is awesome. If you're interested in buying a hybrid at a good price now is the time. You can get invoice pricing, $1000 cash back, and good deals on financing. I know I probably sound like a salesman but I'm not. Just very happy with my car and the deal I got.

So far I'm averaging 37 mpg, though that'll probably change as I get used to driving and I get thru the break-in period. Added benefit is that I no longer have a lead foot as I did with my 02 Maxima. I do however have a question for my fellow TCH owners. It concerns "stopping & parking" the car. What's the exact procedure for with this ? I've been: Stopping. With foot on brake, I place in Park. Then press down the emergency brake. Then press the Power button/switch for 3-4 seconds. Most of the time everything goes dark, however, sometimes the dashboard lites remain illuminated and the "green" light on the Power switch/button remains illuminated. I exit then lock the door. When I return several minutes later to "verify" the status, all lights are off and the green light on the Power switch/button is no longer illuminated. Any ideas ?? Thanks for your input

I just bought my second TCH. I traded in the one I purchased in late 2006 for a new 2008. I got in on the $1,000 rebate from Toyota. It ends 4/30/08. I made the trade at a really good price. I am a confirmed Camry fan. I bought my first one in 1987. The trade in was white (OK). The '08 is silver with a spoiler (much cooler, I think). Anyway, heres another vote for Camry and the hybrid version. |

Picked up my 2009 TCH a week ago Saturday and have been loving it ever since. I went for the "stripped" model. No sunroof (need the headroom and didn't really care for it last time I had it in a car), no leather (don't really want to spend the money for it), and no NAV (couldn't care less about it). Even without those, it still has more features than any vehicle I've ever driven. Love the Bluetooth, and very pleased with the mileage so far of 36-39mpg (depending on whether it's me or my wife driving). Quick note to all on the body-side moldings. My dealer pushed them at me for $350 (along with the $499 paint protection, 3M coating over the leading edges, extend warranty, pre-paid maintenance, tire coverage, GAP insurance, credit life, and credit disability). Save your money. I used to be a car salesman, and I can tell you pretty confidently that NOTHING that the dealer offers you at closing is a good deal. If you do a quick check on the internet, you can find the BSM's for about $100, and installation is pretty simple and should take about half an hour.
