I rented one recently for a weekend. I think that the acceleration is not that great. The PT that I rented was a 2006 and it was the base engine/base trim level. Also, I remember having to take my view away from the road for too long to adjust the radio. I guess once you're used to the radio controls, you can adjust it by touch. I own a Mazda 6, and the radio readout is high in the dash, and it has steering wheel controls, so that's what I'm used to. Size wise, the car had a lot of room. And I like the clock in the middle of the dash, nice blue glow. That's all I can think of about the PT Cruiser. As I said, I only had it for one weekend, so it did not grow on me. But I do remember the lack of peppy acceleration. Could use more power.

rented one I would have preferred something else but that was all they had in that class. did some local but mostly highway driving, at the end or the trip I couldn't wait to get back to my 7 year old Corolla even with all its wear and miles on it. There was nothing about that car that would make me run to the local Chrysler dealer to get one, not a damn thing not the mileage, acceleration, noise control, seat comfort, interior quality was a joke, the handling was ok, but how can a car have so much rubber seals around the doors and still allow so much wind noise to get in is incredible
