I'm thinking of trading it for an Azera; my only concerns: the Sonata gets 24 MPG in town, and it has an exceptional safety record. It has a lot of road noise, however, unless the pavement is smooth. Any thoughts, Azera drivers? Yes or no to the trade?

I've had my Azera since the beginning of August and just love this car. I had a couple of issues that were resolve by the dealership. Make sure you get 3 keys to open the doors. They forgot to give me the valet key so the dealer ended up and had to give me a whole new set of keys. Now I've got 4 keys (total amount the car will accept) Don't lose them as they will be expensive to replace. The sub woofer would vibrate and I couldn't properly enjoy the 315 watt stereo system. I realized that it was the child latches vibrating. I fixed it by putting double sided padded tape between the metal latch and frame. You can't see a thing.....................Wow did I see a difference and now able to crank up the volume to full capacity of the system. Impressive car, several times people have pulled me over just to see the Azera and it really turns heads and the comfort level with this car is awesome. |

Replying to: allmet33 (Oct 30, 2006 8:01 pm) Without the utterly aggravating clunk/rattle, i could overlook: -the sloppy transmission shifting -the floor it and wait forever to downshift problem -the huge gaps in the door to dash alignment -the silly useless wheel mounted stereo controls on the 06 model -the excessive driveline lash -the horrible traction control that lets the wheels spin and the horrible axle tramp -the electrochromatic mirror that has no adjustments that lets the light from the back shine just a bit to bright in your eyes at night -the noisy suspension (that's right it's noisy before you hear the dreaded azera clunk) -the total lack of lateral support in the seats -the suspension wallow in corners, yes folks it's a white knuckler if you like spirited driving. best of both worlds, feel every bump yet wallow in the corners!! -abysmal gas mileage I really wanted to love this car. I tried. I sat in the car and adored the aroma of the leather, gazed at the lovely dash layout, but then everytime i tried to love it and justify the ridicously large cash layout for such a poorly operating automobile, then i put it into reverse, drive out to the main road and clunk and rattle my way to work, and wish i had never bought this car.

Replying to: drdonrs (Oct 30, 2006 8:17 pm) mine include: 93 VW Corrado SLC (new) 94 RX7 (new) 94 Acura Legend (used) 97 Grand Prix GTP (new) 97 BMW 540i (new) All of them were so much better than the Azera at doing what they were intended to do, and for crying out loud the only thing the Azera has better than the worst car on that list (pontiac of course) was nicer leather and a bit more hp. heck, i didn't list the 2001 dodge dakota quad cab, and even that made me happier than the azera! not to mention the honda civic ex i just got driving for almost 4 years. you would think i would be thrilled going to the azera after a civic ex, but i am so regretting trading that in for this piece of crap. |

I've been keeping up with these forums since before I purchased my Azera. I've had it for a few weeks, and it has about 1000 miles on it. I guess I have been fortunate so far, as to not have the "dreaded klunk". I've listened for it, and driven over rough pavement, etc. and have not heard anything. I absolutely love the car. It is very comfortable while driving. I drive approx. 500 miles a week for my job, so I've been able to test that out. It has so many features that are in my opinion a luxury. The rain sensing wipers and auto headlights for instance. Anyway, I think it is a great car for the money, and I am hoping not to experience the klunk. Christy |
