If you've registered at the Hyundai Master Service site: http://www.hmaservice.com/authenticator/login?returnAddress=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.hma- service.com%3A80%2Fwebtech ... you'll find, after clicking on the "on-line training" that there's an on-line course entitled "XM Satellite Radio Web Course" and the second page of that says "2007 Models with XM Satellite Radio Systems as standard equipment." I can say no more... Well, I don't know anymore!... |

Replying to: plwilliams (Dec 14, 2006 8:56 am) I decided to take a look at the existing part and how it it removed before going ahead and ordering the new part. Boy am I glad I tried this because I would feel really foolish right now if I had already paid for the part.

Replying to: tuebrook (Dec 20, 2006 11:01 am) Although the torx fasteners are tight, I simply put a vise grip wrench on the screw driver, gave it a little more pressure and they popped and easily unscrewed. I had the same apprehension at first. The entire procedure of changing the switch took less than 10 minutes. Unpluging of the airbag is unnecessary, simply lift and move to side or down. The switch is held in place by phillips head screws. Just unplug wire from old switch and replace in new one.

Replying to: tuebrook (Dec 20, 2006 2:46 pm) BTW, I had to order a T40 since neither of the big box stores we have (Home Depot or Lowes) carried them in stock. |

Replying to: tuebrook (Dec 20, 2006 2:46 pm) I used a T-40. It is a pretty hefty screw driver, but I still needed the vise grip. Most hardware type or auto supply stores carry a cheap T handle set that would probably work.

Here's a couple pics of my new stereo that replaced the factory unit. The sound quality of the factory was nice, but there's a significant upgrade in sound with the new stereo. It was a snap to install (with the right wire harness) and the only modification I had to make to the dash kit was to cut the cross piece across the top of it because it bowed down. The kit came with all instructions you would need to take the factory radio out and put the new one in. If I recall correctly...the dash kit I used was made by Metra. Replying to: allmet33 (Dec 21, 2006 9:21 am) Thanx for posting the pics. The new unit looks gter than I would have expected. You mentioned that the new head unit provided a significant upgrade over the stock unit. I'm assuming you had the 10 speaker 315 watt Infinity stereo that comes with either the Premium or Ultimate packaged cars to begin with. Being someone who appreciates good sound, what are the specific improvements you've noticed. EDITED / ADDED - Now that I saw all the pictures, I see that you've updated quite a bit more than just the head unit, so asking what improvements you noticed is a bit irrelevant for me, as i don't know if I'll be sinking as much into any stereo upgrade. No doubt it's absolutely awesome. Hope it's everything you expected..and more. Thanx again for sharing all the photos.

Replying to: theblackhole (Dec 21, 2006 1:28 pm) I've had my trials and tribulations in this endeavor and I've learned a lot about this car. However, I see the light at the end of the tunnel now. You can check my carspace page to see the upgrades I've done. |
