Replying to: wwwToddH (Nov 25, 2008 1:36 pm) This is to update and correct my earlier post(s). We have been looking into swapping or buying locally. According to a knowledgeable man my husband spoke with today (the guy deals in these type of seat swaps) -- it is NOT possible to swap captains chairs for bench seat without drilling holes in the floor. The bolt patterns are different. Sounds like it won't work even within the same model year, not unless you don't mind a few extra holes in your floor. |

I have a light tan bench seat in very good condition. I am in Baton Rouge, LA. How far is Pensacola for you to drive to? It is about 5 hours for me. Arrie |

If a motor is defective, the seat adjuster will have to be replaced as an assembly. Remove the front seat. Remove the seat side trim panel. Remove the seat cushion frame from the seat adjuster. Remove the inboard mounting nut and remove the seat belt buckle from the seat track. Disconnect the seat belt electrical connector Remove the seat back frame from the seat adjuster. Remove the seat back hinge/recliner mechanism. Remove the seat adjuster track cover. If equipped, remove the memory module, Remove the seat adjuster from the vehicle. Disconnect and replace the motors as needed. To Install: Position the memory module to the seat. Install the mounting screws. Tighten to 26 lb in (3 Nm). Position the inboard seat belt buckle to the seat track. Install the mounting nut. Tighten to 39 ft lb (53 Nm). Connect the seat belt buckle electrical connector. Install the seat adjuster track cover. Install the seat back hinge/recliner assembly. Install the seat back frame to the seat adjuster. Install the seat cushion frame to the seat adjuster. Install the seat side trim panel. Install the seat. Calibrate the seat if equipped with memory seats. Now, I'm not a mechanic, but if you could somehow get in there, maybe you could figure out how to replace just one of the motors. That's assuming it's really a motor that's the issue and not a broken wire or circuit board trace or the module or one of the switches. There's also a 30A seat circuit breaker, but I don't think you'd have any of the functions if that was blown.
