wife's middle age car by madams1

I am 50 and my wife is 55. We currently own a 2003 CRV, which I love to drive. My air went out on my 92 toyota pickup, so instead of spending the 1,000 to convert and fix, I told my wife that we would buy her a car, I would dirve the CRV and keep the truck for hauling, etc.
We drove the FIT and then drove the VERSA and it was a toss up, but when my wife saw the orange blaze in the FIT, it was over, she had to have it. We have one reserved for the end of this month.

63 here and buying an 09 Fit Sport.
Trading in my 2005 Honda Element where I didn't fit the demographic either.
My other vehicle is a 2006 Porsche 911 C4 so I guess I'm just weird.

53, single, no kids.

Got bored with my 02 Civic Coupe. It was also at the stage where I could get the best trade-in for it. I only buy Honda cars.

I had seen the 07-08 Fit around and liked the look. Initially did not like the look of the 09 Fit as much, but now I do. Got the Storm Silver Manual.

The Civic was a vehicle that took me from point A to point B. The Fit does the same with more fun. I also have an expensive bike and it was always a bit of a hassle to get it into the Civic, not a problem with the Fit.

As for older people using the Internet, I get a kick out of that comment. I have been using computers now for 28 years. My niece is 28 and she knows how to use a computer or an iPod or the like, but has no clue how to troubleshoot or fix any of these things. Those of us who had to fight our way through DOS 1.0, dBase 1.0 etc learned the hard way.

I'm 79 and have had a love affair with cars since a kid, Bought a Fit Sport auto in '07. Also bought '07 Versa SL for wife (great car for her). Totally different cars. The Fit is fun to drive, great utility space although you feel every bump in the road.
The Versa , in contrast, is quiet, comfortable, smooth riding, excellent CVT tranny and has a plush interior at a very reasonable price. Why these two cars are tested against each other as if they are in the category is beyond me. Not similar at all.

From what I see in this forum today, almost none of us meet the "first car" standard I was told the Fit was advertised to.
I'm 62, divorced, my kids in college.
Started shopping for a new car about 5 years ago since my Mitsubishi Expo was 12 years old. Found nothing that really matched my desire for fuel economy, safety, and a small car that would still take my road bike in the back without taking off the front wheel. Then began to see news about the Fit in various car magazines. It appeared perfect to my needs and desires. Follow-up reviews continued to support my early evaluation so I bought a 2009 Fit Base back in September, 2008. It meets all my expectations. I love it.

I am a 56 year old male, and I purchased a 2009 Fit Sport MT in January. I don't think I fit Honda's desired demographic. Isn't it funny how the car makers can't figure out who will buy a given model. Honda developed the Element to appeal to younger buyers, but every one I see is being driven by a middle age (or older) person.

I have had as many as 3 kids in the back seat, or 2 kids and a dog in the middle, with another dog in the rear. This car suits every need for every age. I love it.

Last car was a 2005 Prius - wife drives that now. I wanted good fuel economy, fully loaded car without the hybrid price tag and i wanted something fun to drive. Fit has been great so far - great fun and pretty good fuel economy.
