I know Honda was targeting Students and Empty Nesters as the main buyers for the Fit but I think they underestimated its broad appeal. Here are my 3 questions: What is your age? (I am 42) What is your marital status? (Married, 2 kids, all fit fine) What were the main reasons you bought a Fit? (Fuel Efficiency, Fun Driving, Honda Reliability.) What's your story?

Replying to: chuck12 (May 18, 2006 6:54 am) Age: 61 Married: 34 years 2 grown sons. Reason: Cute, fuel efficient (sold 05 Ody for FIT), Fun (a blast to drive) and yes, Honda reliability. PLENTY of cargo space. Purchased 4/19/2006 One month old today.. Storm Silver FIT Sport AT, now has 3275 miles. Averaging 34.5mpg. No problems. I've ordered full nose mask, floor mats, cargo cover, cargo tray, cargo net, splash guards and rear bumper applique. Should arrive the 24th. Also will soon order arm rest, a must for long trips. Longest trip: Houston, Atlanta, St. Pete, Houston. Did 19 straight hours, St. Pete-Houston. Getting nose mask to protect from bugs and a few minor dings from trips. Love the FIT! |

Replying to: vcarreras (May 19, 2006 6:21 am) husband 44 1 son, 8 yrs. old. 1 dog, 8 yrs old. Reason for Fit: Versa not here, poorer fuel economy and cargo capacity. Yaris too small for dog and luggage and Sport model too expensive. Any van, too big. SUV, dog can't get in without trouble. The Fit has safety stuff, fuel economy, cargo room, and the FUN FACTOR. |

Bought a base 5MT fit because (most important first): Affordability, fuel economy, plenty of cargo space, Honda reliability, safety features, fun. Mike

Replying to: waltersbg (May 19, 2006 1:47 pm) I'd decided that the Fit was my first choice for a new car even before the advertising started because 1) it boasts Honda reliability 2) it was within my budget and 3) it's exactly the same length and width as my previous car. (I abhor big cars.) The Fit's specs looked great on paper, and the test drive convinced me it was the right car for me. While I certainly appreciate the Fit ads from a design sense, I don't know if seeing them would have helped me form an opinion about the car, since they're not exactly filled with useful information. |

Replying to: vcarreras (May 19, 2006 6:21 am) Here's our story: Age: Mom - 75 Pop - 70 Married: 49 plus years, 2 grown sons Get this: Sold 2004 Odyssey to buy Fit Purchased 4/20/2006 Vivid Blue, Sport AT - alas, we have only 690 miles so far. We can't keep up with you! But, we agree with you - fun, a blast to drive - reminds me of the old Civic ads where 2 kids drove down to the mailbox (you had to be there). Anyway - the Fit is maybe the best car we've ever owned. It's fun, functional and fabulous.
