lived in NC for a while. i don't think you get the snow that we do in new york. plus they use a lot of salt up here on t he roads in the winter time.

My mistake. I think I was confusing those who put 6 quarts of Amsoil in their Duramax.

Regardless it's a lot cheaper

I live in Minnesota. Land of 10,000 Salt trucks. My GM's have never had premature rust. My 1989 did not start showing any rust until about 2000 when I got my new one and my 2000 is still like brand new. Not a scratch, ding OR a single speck of rust. Of course, I take care of my stuff. Dodge's are the worst of the big 3 for rust, and Toyota is the worst of any vehicles. Come drive on our freeways and you will see for yourself.

well, of course. i'm sure minnesota is going to be worse than new york for salt, but around here in my experience the GMs gett rusty sooner. And something tells me the anti dodge stories are going to be deeper than minnesota snow.

My father has a 1998' Silverado Z-71 with over 250K on it. He has Zero rust. I guess all vehicles will rus if one never washes them. Maybe the story's of the Chevy's rusting is one where the owner never washed it ? Obviously the Dodges are getting a few more baths but that won't help when the body's panels are falling off. J/K

I did buy a 96' Dodge Ram a couple of summers ago. I think we've put 5-6K on it. I do like dodges but this truck sure has nickled and dime us to death. Hopefully once it gets all the way fixed I will not have to worry about fixing it again it for a long-time.

Morgan, Morgan, Morgan. How dare you see things differently than the self-perpetuated myth of GM superiority. You are not supposed to criticize GM products. It's heresy. It just can't be true that something else is as good or better.

You know, if that company was as perfect as GM worshippers try to imply with their anecdota reports of perfect machinery, why are they in so much trouble? As Toyota keeps creeping forward, GM will have their hardcore buyers...for a while.

GM perfect? Not by a long shot, but still light years ahead of Toyota. Toyota would LOVE to be where GM is at in the truck segment. But, it'll never happen, GM has gotten there "stuff" together and will keep getting better.

Where is Dodge at now ? What 5th when they use to be #3 less than a decade ago. If this keeps up Hyundai and Nissan will make them 8th
