Replying to: KarenS (Jul 05, 2006 1:15 pm) Even now Porsche is tiptoeing into the mid-engine area, deliberately maintaining the "supremacy" of the rear-engined 911 by limiting the power of production Boxsters and Caymans. This is odd because it seems to me that the 987 represents the future of the Porsche brand. They've crammed all the power and displacement they can possibly get into the tail of the 911. Porsche has more experience with mid-engined sports racing cars than anyone, why can't they see that the ultimate road car needs to have the center of mass in the middle of the car, not hung out in back? |
