I'm having I think the exact same problem. Clock no longer illuminated, and the climate control/air flow controls randomly turn on-and-off, or sometimes flashes on-and-off at seemingly fixed time intervals.

I didn't notice this problem until I changed the battery a few months ago, at which time the problems almost immediately started. Did you by chance change your battery prior to your problems? If so maybe that's our fix!!

I was having similar problems with my car. The gauge display for P N D D3 2 1 would not light up, and when this happened the A/C lights would not work, and the A/C would not blow cold air. Turns out, I had a weak battery. Changed the battery, and it hasn't happened again (at least 1 year ago). IMO, you need to have the strongest battery you can afford for these cars. I don't think my second battery is going to last very long either. Optima is next.

I was driving it last summer with heat blowing out and couldn't turn it off. I even recharged the freon with a kit. Well turned out to be something simple. I was tinkering around and pulled off the cool hot adjust switch. The inside of the knob was cracked. So when I was turning the knob, it was not actually turning the switch itself. So it was always in the hot position. How funny was that. I just replaced the knob and worked. I ended up selling the car a few months ago anyway.

climate control in 05 EX V6 Nav by ijafw

I now own a 05 Accord EX V6 w/ Nav.

Reading the manual doesn't tell me anything about how the dvd in the trunk helps me with voice nav, and managing audio and climate. I can turn temp up/down, but can't control the fan speed. The display screen says I need to put in a disk (am waiting for it). Does this mean that radio/climate-controls are done via the screen? Any pointers to where this is documented? The on-line pdf manual doesn't go into this at all....

Thanks, ijafw

Yes, controls such as fan speed and radio tuning are done via touch-screen. Don't fret, when you get your disc I imagine everything will be just fine!

05 honda accord coupe climate control by dsun0814

Hi guys,

I have a really quick question. I bought a used 05 Honda Accord coupe V6 with navi not long ago. I was wondering about the automatic climate control feature. It seems that every time I press the AUTO button, the air only blows from the side vents but not from the main vents. Does the automatic climate control feature also control from which vent the air comes out from?

And I'd like to know on what settings you guys usually set your climate control to...either fully manual, automatic, or semi-automatic?

Thanks for your time!

I have an 03 with no nav. so the controls are different But from my experience, if the air is being heated, to get the set temperature, it will go to the floor vents automatically. If the air has to be cooled, it will come out of the dash vents automatically.

The climate control seems like such a good idea but when I found out that the AC is always on even when the car is being heated, I decided not to use it because it would hurt mileage.

On the rare occasions that I use AC in the cool western Washington summers, I do use it because, obviously, the AC would be on anyway. I have also used it when the windshield keeps fogging up in the winter since using the defrost uses the AC too.

I discovered the knob was cracked on the inside and when turning it, it actually never turned. So it was stuck on full heat setting all the time. I pulled the knob off and replaced it.
I ended up selling the Honda.
